Most people cut Chavis some slack if he has a down year every 4 years because his defense is good 90% of the time. The offense is pretty awful 90% of the time. Your argument is dumb.

Take out the cupcakes? Sure. But we have to do it for EVERY team. That ought to about average everything back out where it is now.
But you can't use the "we had so much talent" argument on offense, then ignore the defensive talent we have. It's not like Chavis is coaching up a bunch of scrubs. 23 drafted since he's been here...and that's just the guys drafted. Doesn't include guys who are undrafted free agents. There were 8 in 2013 alone drafted. That defense was top 10, but how did anyone score? That was basically an entire NFL defense we were putting out there.
I say that to say this. I'm glad Chavis is here. I hope he stays, but all the stupid "Les is fired if he leaves" nonsense is just that.
By the way...who is to blame for the welter/beckwith stuff earlier this year?

I would think it would be the other way around and Chavis likes being at a school where the defense is the most important part of the team. He gets credit for a lot of the wins and is considered important and gets a huge salary.
If we had a strong offense, he would be a much smaller cog in the scheme of things.

Good point. LSU needs to go cheap with head coaching salaries. That way Curley can come back.

What? When counting only rushing and passing tds Miles has coached 5 of the top 7 lsu teams in this category.

No its not. Take away JLee pick 6's and our offense was good in 2008. 2006,2007, 2008,2009 (jj was 17 tds 7 ins and 63 % completion),2011,2013

Steve Ensminger, Frank Wilson, Adam Henry, Brick Haley, and Corey Raymond all have not signed contract extensions for LSU. I anticipate that at least 3 possibly 4 of them pick up offers elsewhere and leave this year.

Earlier this year, following the Auburn and Miss St. games, LSU fans were ready to fire Chavis, saying that the game had passed him by. They definitely improved during the second half of the season but just pointing out (in regards to the hate on Cam) how fickle fans can be. Love or hate of coaches by fans turns quickly

Top priority should be Wilson. I am good with paying Chief and Cam. But with the money we have to throw around, I propose hiring another top notch recruiter in place of Ensminger who can be given an administrative role. C. Raymond deserves a raise.
