hitting a spot is completely different than consistently missing high with every pitch you throw in every location. Ranaudo wasn't missing corners or anything. He either wasn't extending his release point or he was shortening his stride to home plate which resulted in him throwing 98% of his 80+ pitches higher than he has all year.
One adjustment can fix that.

yes. he was sailing his pitches in the first inning and made an adjustment and began throwing them where he wanted them after that. he just sucks so it didn't matter.

I agree, but physically the guy may not be able to 'feel' that adjustment until he is able to step away and start his routine over in warm-ups for his next start.

He is like a full size truck with a V-6. It looks the part, but when it comes down to it, he does not have it.
