Wow, just wow...the OP does not even know that Brooks retired?

What a dolt.

Dude, get a clue, Joker is the coach for UK.

My bad. UK is not relevant to SEC football. But thanks for the heads up.

Meyer
Saban
Miles
Richt
Nutt
Petrino
Spurrier
Johnson
Mullen
Chizik
Dooley
Phillips

Of course 3 is much closer to 4 than 2. I put Les ahead of Richt because he has won a NC. Would put Spurrier higher, but he hasn't done much at USCe.

8. Dooley
9. Mullen

WTF has Dooley done better then Mullins? What pulled in a class that was started by the cheat Kiffin and O?

I give Dooley alot of credit for what he did at La Tech.

He was at best 3rd best program in the state and did well with very little talent. Compared to talent at LSU.

I would have your exact list except I'd have Saban over Meyer. He's won 3 SEC championships to Meyer's 2, and 2 NCs at 2 different schools is more impressive than 2 at the same. But they are close. And I also agree that Les is currently closer to Richt than the top 2.

He basically had the same record as the prior coach. Dooley had a losing record...I guess when you almost beat LSU in Tiger Stadium, then it makes you a good coach.

Also, Brooks did a damn good job to take UK to 4 bowl games....win 3 of them....but you have Vandy's coach ahead of him and a coach who has not coached a damn game in the SEC

Its Vandy. Let me say that again. Its Vandy.

Agreed. Miles could shoot up this list dramatically if he figures out what this whole "Game Clock" thing that everyone keeps talking about is.

No way he is top 5. He was not a good coach at OSU, Why would he be able to cut it in the SEC?

what exactly has gene chizik done to be in anyone's top 5?

Auburn was a wreck. 1. he did more with less then any other coach in the SEC. IMO

2. He backed that up with a top 5 recruiting class.

ok, so he went 8-5 and had a good recruiting class. you know gerry dinardo did the same thing in his first season. you can't honestly think chisik is a top 5 coach with the body of work he has now. he might end up being up there, but far too premature.
