No way he is top 5. He was not a good coach at OSU, Why would he be able to cut it in the SEC?

Unplug your computer.
Go outside.
Build a snowman or play in some leaves.
Just do something besides post.

Les Ranks:

1) Game day - 11th
2) Off field issues - 6th
3) Practice/Prep - 5th
4) Recruiting - 3rd
5) Class - 3rd

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Agreed. Miles could shoot up this list dramatically if he figures out what this whole "Game Clock" thing that everyone keeps talking about is.

This could be true.

ok, so he went 8-5 and had a good recruiting class. you know gerry dinardo did the same thing in his first season. you can't honestly think chisik is a top 5 coach with the body of work he has now. he might end up being up there, but far too premature

IMO Not the same. LSU is the only big dog in the state. Not so at Auburn.

whatever, you're just reaching now. lsu was in much worse shape when dinardo came in than auburn was this year. we hadn't been competitive in years, whereas auburn had one losing season. fact remains, chisik is not a top 5 coach in this league. i'd put meyer, saban, richt, nutt, miles, and petrino over him based on what those coaches have actually done. you seem to be forgetting that chisik won 5 games in 2 years at iowa state.

Ill give you that, except that miles SUCKS and he has to be at the bottom. But I would agree to move the others up.

I do think that Auburn is more difficult because of bama being in that state.

did you just quote and respond to yourself? but yeah it is harder to recruit there obviously, but still we were in much worse shape as a program when dinardo came in than chisik, and he's yet to do anything to be considered a top 5 coach in the sec. if he wins 9-10 games next year, maybe

I would put Saban and Meyer as #1 and #1A.
10. Johnson
11.Miles
12. Incomplete.

Sad to admit but L. Miles is the worst HC in the SEC right now.

Just opinon. Keep in mind what had to happen inorder for him to win that "crystal".

No other BCS Champ has lost 2 games.

Lost to Ark. at home.

W. Vig could have played Pitt. 10 times and would not have lost that game again. IMO

That was Luck. Pure and simple.

I defended him at first, but not anymore. I questioned the hire in 05, but I was comparing him to Saban. I decided that was not fair. Now I judge him on his coaching, and what he says and does. IE. This is the Best OL since he got to LSU.

BCS championship. Won 51 games in 5 years (Never been done before at LSU), only LSU coach to beat Florida, Auburn, Alabama and Tennessee and in the same season. Prior to LSU, he was the first coach to defeat Bob Stoops twice (and at Okie State against Stoops' OU).

You want me to say the guys I listed above are better (Meyer, Saban, and Spurrier), fine, but what has Richt, Chizik, Petrino ANY of them done to compare with Les' resume?

I would argue that all the coaches you listed would have done just as well given the team that miles inherited. IMO

WTF has that got to do with ANYTHING? If that's the case, Bobby Johnson has "done more" with the team he inherited. It will ALWAYS be Vandy's coach or Kentucky's coach, if they have a really good year.

Miles, like him or not, has won 51 games in 5 years, a conference championship and a BCS championship. Saban didn't win 51 games.

Miles is also a hurricane away from a second SEC championship. Dietzel only won 46 games in 7 years. Only Saban and Arnsparger are even in the same conversation as Les, as far as winning percentage goes.
