Quiet, well-behaved drunks are ok. When they get slobber faced, don't watch the game to the point where they have no idea what's going on and then start acting like they are the only ones in the stands and won't let anyone else watch the game, it's time for them to go back to their tail gate, IMO.

This seems to be the consensus among everyone here and my circle of friends. But to be honest, I have crossed that line a few times. So I try to cut some slack up to a reasonable point. Typically, cursing in front of kids after being asked to stop is my breaking point.

I'd say any of those descriptions fit the definition of "obnoxious."

i meant making noise and cheering for one's team. You can obnoxious without crossing that line (we probably crossed it in Hoover)

It is in pretty poor taste to make fun of a guy who was on top of the world only to lose it all to drugs and alcohol. That is simply not a funny situation.

"he lost it to common sense"

He lost his common sense to drugs and alcohol. Regardless, it is not something that should be made fun of, an architect losing his whole life, career, and family.

Can you imagine being hit in the head with one of those hooks swinging from a crane? Not very funny.

For the record, I never claimed to be either a preacher or a missionary. I volunteer with a couple of places in Dallas, one being a mission.

no i can't, but having beer or whiskey at a baseball game still wouldn't put me in that situation. Drinking and trying to work construction might put me in danger. There is a time and a place for everything a baseball game is one of them

at first reading this thread i thought what a fricking douche

but after reading this thread i respect him and what he stands for, im not going to stop drinking but i understand where he's coming from. He doesnt want people to make the same mistake he did. Also, most of the people calling this guy a fig/douche didnt read the entire thread.

I've only had to say something to drunks a few times. I always try to explain to them why they are ruining the game for everyone else around them. Usually they are appropriately embarrassed, mumble a "sorry" and then watch the game and cheer with everyone else.

Only once did the sheriffs deputies have to take them away. And the entire section applauded as they were escorted out so I think I did the right thing. I don't think that guy even remembered the game the next morning.

BTW. I only got one answer to the question.

Anyone else care to add? What's the deal with bringing alcohol in?

I think if you get Gorilla tape and tape a flask right next to your left testicle, you should be okay. But make sure it is cloudy outside or you're fricked

By your logic, we should never do anything potentially dangerous, I mean, it could kill you.

One idiot does something stupid while on shrooms and drinking and somehow drinking is now completely irresponsible in all contexts. No offense, but that is lunacy. You can't just take the moral high ground here and expect anyone to take you seriously. I have known people to drink to their deaths, but it doesn't stop me from being a responsible drinker.

BTW I agree that some people really shouldn't drink because they really don't handle themselves well, but it is ridiculous that you would tattle on someone for being inebriated and having fun watching our tigers. Your "holier than thou" approach to setting them right isn't doing anything helpful at all.

Sorry for the rant.

Peace.
