I think in general the coaches were yelling at everyone in the drill to react accordingly if the ball hits the ground. You thinking Rettig is unmotivated because of this is certainly "looking at it wrong".

I don't know the play or what the situation was, so my guess is as good as yours. If he was supposed to be keeping it, it dry well could be a mental lapse or a lack of focus. Just hypothesizing based off what another user said. I'm not disrespecting Rettig at all. Cool your jets.

I'm guessing they take the green jerseys off these two qbs? I mean you know you will see a couple qb runs each. I really wish Fournett, Quinn, and Dupre were in for spring practice. They could really shake things up. We will also have Williams coming in at rb to add depth once the season is here.

I am so tired of this though. The kid is only third string and anything can happen to place him either as the backup, or starter. I'd rather Harris redshirt and Rettig backup Jennings myself. If he's going to transfer, at least do it after he graduates in 3 years. Then he has two years to go anywhere and play (at least where the coaches allow him to).
I actually believe that Cam will make great QBs out of all these guys. There is not enough film (or any at all really) that tells if they are just bad, and Cam is an elite QB coach.
