It's really all part of the attraction to sports in general. We all have a 'darth vader' in one form or another and in college football that is USC. There's nothing wrong with taking pleasure in them losing. Everyone loves a David and Goliath story. Of course it has no real impact on everyday real life, its all part of the fun that is sports entertainment. Being jubilant beyond words with every LSU win and agonizing over every devasting LSU loss is no different.

I am getting so sick of LSU "fans" posting threads bashing our own fan base for being happy about these kinds of losses.
Were you not ecstatic last year when WVU got upset and put us in the driver's seat to make it to the NC game? If you weren't fired up about that, then you ARE A TERRIBLE FAN.

We would be celebrating if ANY #1 team ahead of us lost. The fact that it was USC, given recent history (2003) and the perennial blow jobs given by the media makes it even more special.

I mean seriously, it is something to celebrate. Every fan of other schools in the country are celebrating right now. OU fans are going crazy up here. Why? Because ESPN continually makes USC out to be the greatest team ever. And since they lost to Vince Young in '05, they just flat out haven't been. Which is incredible due to the recruits they have gotten.
I keep cracking up thinking about ESPN all day yesterday talking USC up and several "experts" claiming that the Trojans would hand the Stl. Rams a big time defeat. Now that shite is funny.

LSU should give two shits about USC's loss.
Tiger fans need to care about us winning our way into the NC game instead of cheering for other teams to lose to put us in.
If you cheered for USC or OrSt you should be banned.
Why?
Because you cheered for USC or OrSt, you PAC-10 dick licker.

I agree with others who have stated that anytime a ranked team above us loses, it helps our cause...no doubt! We still have to take care of our business but USC's loss might have just made that a little bit easier. Also, what do think USC's other opponents are gonna be ready to do now? No more fear...hell, there's blood in the water now and every team they play is gonna NOW believe they can beat SC....life's good!

You're damn right I cheered. Who doesn't like a huge underdog upsetting a media darling (you and gaston apparantly). It was a fun game to watch and if you'd stick your head outside of your cave more often you'd see there's more in the world to enjoy than just SEC football.

lets not forget that with USC losing so early on in the season, they still have time to move up in the polls. most of LSU's tough games are later on in the season, meaning less time to move up in the polls IF we were to lose.

Possibly the dumbest post ever. We pull for LSU and they do win and we don't like USC b/c they claim a share of our crystal ball. Furthermore if USC went undefeated they were a shoo in for the NC game over other teams who were more worthy.
Why don't you enroll at USC (its right beside Watts, you know that upscale neighborhood in LA).
Then you pull for the trojans.
