Some writer said the other day that LSU would be the toughest team to predict for the 2008 season. That's b/c of the qb situation.

I agree, b/c there's enough talent on the LSU team to go all the way -- again. But, somebody is going to have to step up and play competently at qb in order for that to happen.

That list still pisses me off. We had the best record and ranking of all the teams that went to the SEC champ game and lost and finished going to the lowest payout of bowls.

Right - I was thinking about times when an SEC team made it without being in the Championship game.

The SEC has had two teams in BCS bowls in the same season in 5 seasons:
1998- Tennessee (SECC, NC), Fiesta; Florida, Orange
1999-Alabama (SECC), Orange; Tennessee, Fiesta
2001-LSU (SECC), Sugar; Florida, Orange
2006-Florida (SECC, NC), BCSCG; LSU, Sugar
2007- LSU (SECC, NC), BCSCG; Georgia, Sugar

corrected.

This is incorrect. Only 1 SEC team made the BCS in 2003...LSU

The consolation is that we got to really beat up on a top 10 rated team, Miami, prebowl no. 9. We probably got more mileage and PR out of that win than going up against a lower ranked opponent in one of the other "higher ranked" bowls. It was the only nonBCS bowl matching top 10 opponents that year, and only 3 of the 4 BCS bowls matched top 10 teams. So strangely enough, it was one of the top 4 matchups as far as rankings go for the whole of the bowl season in the 2005 season.

I see UGA dropping at least two games this year.
8/30 Georgia Southern
9/06 Central Michigan
9/13 @ South Carolina
9/20 @ Arizona State
9/27 Alabama TBA
10/11 Tennessee TBA
10/18 Vanderbilt TBA
10/25 @ LSU TBA
11/01 Florida TBA

11/08 @ Kentucky TBA
11/15 @ Auburn TBA
11/29 Georgia Tech TBA
That's a tough stretch of games right there. It starts with back to back road games, their BYE is b/t Bama and Rocky Top, Vandy might have them eyeing LSU a week early then the WLCP with Florida. They aren't that good...sorry

I mistyped the year. Thanks for catching the mistake.

i think @ Kentucky should also be in bold, simply for the fact that it is a road game that comes right after this tough stretch. Classic 'letdown' game

I'm willing to bet Schlabach's dumbass doesn't want to bet with someone that these things will happen. Its stupid to start with this bowl game shite right now.

Schlabach is the only one of those announcers that I like. He is usually pretty fair in his analysis.

I see UF going higher, maybe slipping into the sugar if the loser of the SECCG is a little bit underrated. Auburn wont go that high either, and probably wont even win the west.

Florida in Capital One
LSU in Cotton Bowl

What you guys think.
They also showed Ole Miss going bowling in Liberty Bowl.
Miss. State in Independence, Bama in Chik-Fil-A, Kentucky in Papajohns, South Carolina in Music City, what you think? Is Tennessee goin to drop off that bad. SEC title game to not bowling

I pick Ole Miss to win the west first of all. OM was robbed by the officials versus Sabans thieves 2007. So I like Ole Miss (who I really hate )

I figure Tubby will grease the reffs for the LSU game 2008 (as usual) so it'll come down to Ole Miss versus Auburn and Ole Miss will pull it out with 2 seconds left on the clock.

LSU will have already lost to Appy St and Troy St by the time they even see AU a comin out the gate at Jordan Hair Stadium. (UGA aka www.dawgrant.com say's and I quote "Troy is the best football team in the state of Alabama!")

tOSU will win thr BCS regardless of the opponent. (LSU can't get in comin in so low in the polls....the price you have to pay for booting a troubles five star athlete-Perrilloux)

You might as well highlight the rest of that schedule. Auburn, @UK, and Ga. Tech aren't gonna be cakewalks either.

The winner of the East will be the team that wins the big cocktail party game in Jacksonville (UGA/Fla)...more than likely.

However, that game can help out Tennessee just as easily.
