A real Heisman back should rush for at least 1500-2000yds to have a real case for the trophy that won't happen LSU is team oriented and too deep at the position. So take off the LSU sunglasses and focus on winning the SEC
Someone failed math. Assuming all things stay equal and WITHOUT the SEC Championship Game,
3/394= 12/1576
Of course, I know that we will play some D's that are better than others, but I don't see why Scott can't maintain this average (especially given what he did at Auburn).

Amazing how the term ranter gets redefined so often. This has GOT to be and Alter...

Absolutely, we've had some real gems on here the last few days.

LSU RB Charles Scott: Several running backs were considered here, but Scott's 134-yard performance against Auburn, which ranks 19th in the nation in run defense, cannot be ignored. Scott is averaging 131.3 yards per game despite only 44 carries. He has 99 fewer carries than Michigan State's Javon Ringer. He has 61 fewer yards than Georgia's Knowshon Moreno despite getting 25 fewer carries.
Dude, Heisman is all about the numbers.

As anyone even thinking about the number of carries (extra yards) he missed out on because we blew out App. St. and N. Texas, not to mention played one less game.
Scott could realistically have another 300 yards at this point of the season with an extra game against Troy and if Miles would have run up the score on the first two games.

You blow hard!
Based on the 3 games, it is very much possible that he may get closer to those numbers. While he may not win it all, I'll be happy (and so will be most of us) even if he gets an invite.

No true running back has won the thing in decades. I think Bush was was closest thing to a running back, but he returned kickoffs, caught a lot of passes.
DMac should have won the things hands down last year and got snoballed. Dont think any SEC true running back has a chance

STFU and go preach somewhere else man. Its still a free country so if folks wanna talk about him being a candidate why's it bother you?

If our PR doesn't try and then all of a sudden Scott gets on a TD streak scoring twice a game and rushes for over 100 yards each game: everyone will be screaming how crappy of a job LSU has done putting this kid out there.
So very true, these things are not won after three games, but if Scott's name isn't being dropped now, then it will soon be too late. He isn't likely to win it this year, but there is always next year.

Didn't Ricky Williams and Ron Dayne win it more recently? Am I missing any others?

1. He is just as qualified as some of the dolts who made it to NY the last few years. So, why not him?
2. All these yahoos talking shite about the Saints are just as off the mark as the original post.

OK, coach, I'll focus. When does practice start? I might need a bigger set of pads than I used in high school. I'm a little bit..um...bigger now.
I can't wait to tackle Tim Tebow.
I hope he doesn't try to circumcise me.
