I was in El Paso recently. It really is a nice town and gets a bad rap for the bowl game. That said, it is a MUCH longer drive there than to Tampa, for example. Plus, you aren't getting a direct flight to El Paso.

We would have sold out the Weed Eater Bowl, or any of the Houston Bowls. I think the New Orleans Bowl should step up and get affliated with the SEC!
LSU has never been a big travel School. I remember when we went to the Orange bowl in the early 80's and only brought about the same amount of people, although their were riots going on at the time.

San Diego would be good for a sec and pac 12 tie-in but I don't think SEC fans would travel well to San Diego year after year in a non BCS bowl game.

There's a reason why attendance at so many bowl games are bad. It's hard to expect big ten fans to travel well year after year to Dallas and Houston.

HOw about a bowl game outside your footprint?

My footprint is the Gulf Coast region. The winter weather is better in Southern California though.

El Paso is better in a jar than in a bowl. Dallas would be good, maybe at Jerry World, or San Diego if y'all don't mind a little bit more of a trip.

frick all that shite.

Get someone to invest in bowling in the open endzone and add east and west uppers to this:

...turing it into about a 80,000 seat venue.

You want people travelling to your bowl game? Have it in Vegas.

Pac 12 vs MWC? WTF? What a waste.

Good point, everybody loves Vegas. Could also be used as the permanent home for the PAC 12 Championship game, MWC Championship game, etc.

Now that it's been "imagineered", somebody's just got to pay for it.

Having been to San Diego and Vegas in the last year, I say DO IT !! Would be great venues and we'd get more many Tiger fans than the 6,000 traveling to Tampa this year. San Diego might be a little tougher sell in Dec or Jan, but Tigers would blow the doors off of Vegas.

With TAMU, Mizzou, and LSU now all on the western side they should move a top bowl tie in . The Cotton Bowl is the "good" bowl on this side of the SEC. Outback, cap, and chic all in the east. Need to move a major tie in to Houston. Seems logical to me.

They don't pick where the bowls are. The bowls exists. they contract to be tie ins with conferences. They get better teams because they pay more. If Houston wants to start a really good bowl, and pay a lot of money, i am sure the SEC will be willing to make a deal.
