Glorious win. Still wish we had left Hess in there but made Newnan benefited from performing under the stress.

That was a damn good game. Props to Arky for making it really interesting at the end.

Our biggest issue to correct is the thought process that we have a fixed closer. We do not have a lock down guy like a freshman matty Ott or a Chris cotton. Newman is over Hess because of experience. When Hess is on he is automatic. So when he comes out to setup and works on few pitches into the 9th we must let him finish because Newman is iffy on what you will get. And once Newman is in we usually no longer have Hess to go to behind him. Those are our only two bullpen guys we have with high pressure experience to count on in those situations in the postseason. The rest of the bullpen are inning eaters with Gilbert being a decent 6th and 7th inning option guy.

Pretty sure it ended as a 1.13 ERA for the SECT ... but don't take my word for it.

A great closer doesnt walk the bases loaded up by 3 in a championship game, allow a run and load them again. He won so a decent closer he is. Mayve even a good one. But great? Nah... he aint that.
