Yes, we were definitely hurting by the time that game came along. But, after a month of healing, we went on to arse-rape Miami. I honestly don't think you could have taken LSU in that bowl game.

IF LSU wins LSU fans will have to admit this team has a chance for a great season
IF WVU wins then they will have a great win on their record and could potentially help them in BCS later in the season
LSU fans will have countless excuses if they lose, certain fans will just admit WVU was the better team, others will blame everyone from Miles to Refs, to field.

Casual WVU fans may dismiss this, but it is the truth. LSU had to play without a real off date because the North Texas game had to be moved to later on in the schedule. I think it was 11 or 12 straight weeks that they played with the SEC Championship included. Also, factor in the fact that many players and their families were from in or around New Orleans and had their lives turned upside down for most of the season. Considering all that happened in 05, it is amazing that LSU team fared as well as it did.

what other excuses would there be? There would be no other excuses. WVU certainly does not have the talent we have, so what excuse would it be other than what you mentioned?
