Did any of you ever think that maybe we only see a few passes from him is because the two best players on his high school team are him and the RB? Maybe their coach is just playing to the team's strengths and it isn't a reflection of his passing ability.

I like the fact that he can play other positions. More bang for the buck. In the end he has to play be in the QB position.

He HAS to be a QB for LSU. I want him to touch the ball EVERY DAMN FREAKING PLAY ON OFFENSE. EVERY PLAY!!!! Ive seen 4 of his high school games here in west Houston, and not only can he do everything, but he is a true LEADER. THE ENTIRE TEAM FEEDS OFF OF HIM.
If Mile turns him into something else, I will trash him mercilessly.

if RS is starting at QB, that means miles will be looking for another job. miles job is on the line next season and some of yall think he will play around with putting a true fresh at qb?

I believe he will play a little in the beginning and starting by the end of the year.

I think he plays Percy Harvin. He won't beat out JJ and JL next year and he really, really wants to play soon.

Who else thinks he'll play something other than QB? Watching him play, he looks like he'd be better used at another position. That being based on the hope that a JJ/JL rotation will work next year.
well considering tim tebow just won the sec championship throwing for 13-21, id say he can stay at qb. he doesn't have to throw 40 times a game to be successful. his running ability will keep defenses off-balanced, it will open up other players and options. i want the ball in rs's hands every play.

I live in Cypress, TX about 3 miles away from where Shepard plays. I've watched him a handful of times and believe me when i say this you NEED him to play QB. Not only is he an extremely rare running talent, but he is a dramatically underrated passer. He's an elusive Vince Young with better decision making skills. Maybe not a great pro prospect QB but about as dynamic of a college QB as you can find. I'm just hoping that LSU isn't going to be close minded about giving him a legit chance to start or placing him elsewhere on the field. If LSU doesn't make some huge personnel changes (players and coaches) they're screwed for next year.
PS
Disregard my signature I'm having second thoughts.

Agree totally. For any of us who have actually watched the kid play and watch how he just pulls his team along....IE leadership...and makes play after play with his legs and arm and decisions and great vision, it's a no-brainer that he is gonna be a great QB for LSU. He is like Tyrod Taylor at V Tech, only 5x better.

I hope you are right! Crowton needs to turn our
offense loose and score so many points that we can't lose.

Shep will be used in a Percy Harvin type role next year with some plays at QB.

He has to play QB. Someone with that much talent needs the ball every play. If you've ever seen an interview with him or watched him play you can see the raw potential. Not only is he a top class athlete but he is an amazingly intelligent person too. LSU's problem this year has but putting the ball in the players hands with the least amount of talent. We have so much skill at all the positions to cheapen it by bad QB play.

not sure about sheppard but if miles tries to run qbs in and out it will be another long and disapointing season. hopefully one of lsu's qb's can seperate themselves as a frontrunner, because if jl wins the job we will get worse as he did this year, need to sign a juco qb to manage the offense as jj learns the offense

From this thread it seems like a lot of people aren't in the choir. Just trying to recruit a few more voices.

I've seen some of his highlight tapes and it's dominated by running plays.
I really think JLee will be the QB next year and for the next 3 years. I also expect him to take over by the 2nd quarter of the bowl game.

You better hope he's a QB.
