Shep. wasn't a good WR but he def. has a skill set that we failed to utilize.

The end around against Bama in 2010 comes to mind.

We could have used him in a Trindon Holliday like role way more than we did. I think we could have made it a point to get him the ball 5 to 10 times a game and he would have been very valuable. Rather that be out of the back field, on screens, in the return game, or on reverses and end arounds.

I truly believe he could have been a valuable asset for us and likely would have been productive in a different offense.

you dont think he could play a deanthony thomas role?

i do.

90 carries @ 7.1 YPC

41 catches @ 9.0

shoot those are pretty much his averages running/catching in LSU's stale offense, against SEC defenses.

There are guys Shepards size who do fine in the NFL. He's got the frame to even put on a little more weight. But guys like Sproles, and Harvin, Jacquiz Rodgers and LaMichael James have found spots on NFL rosters, despite being small.

Not saying he WILL do this, but his size doesn't eliminate him out of hand. Someone will pick him up as an UDFA and give him a shot in the offseason, so we will see what happens.

I'd bet he gets drafted. He will do great in his drills and interview. Probably 6th round. At worst he is a practice squad for a team in Washington's division to be RG3.

If Chip Kelly goes to the NFL I would love to be apart of his scheme ...It fits me !!! Wow. He really seems to be saying he made a mistake coming to LSU.

Everyone who makes a choice and it doesn't work out the way they want it too will second guess the choice. I think RS enjoyed his time at LSU. I for one like the guy, I think he played hard for us and did the best he could. He came in as a QB and everyone I have heard speak or have read about him playing QB said he couldn't do it here. He didn't pan out at WR. It happens. I hope he gets to the proday and impresses and gets a chance for a team in the NFL. As long as he gets a shot in front of the NFL scouts, then it's up to him to get drafted, picked up as a free agent, or find someway onto a team. If he is good enough to be in the NFL, he will find a way in.

He'll probably run a good 40, do good in agility drills, catch poorly, and run routes poorly.

Shep wasn't a fit for LSU. He made a mistake going to LSU just like Ford, Jakhari Gore, and Terrance Magee. Smaller all-purpose type running backs don't fit in an LSU offense. Les wouldn't know what to do with Darren Sproles if he had him. The LSU offense doesn't have room for smaller all purpose running backs, pass catching tight ends, or receivers who want to catch a lot of passes.

Dwayne Bowe is a physical beast, he's the fricking Hulk compared to Shep. Dwayne also improved his hands which Shep never did and his route running was better as well.
