Texas has made it clear, by what means I'm not sure. That if RICE were to Schedule football games with LSU in Houston, then UT would drop not only RICE football but men's basketball as well from their schedule.

You gotta love the fact that a school from lil ol Louisiana is a BIG threat to Texas.lol.

Is there really any danger of LSU playing Rice in Houston anyhow?

Given our shitty OOC scheduling policies I wouldn't put it past us. We are playing at TCU in a few years. Obviously they are a much stronger program than Rice, but we shouldn't be playing a home-and-home with them either.

At least TCU philosophically fits. I agree that we should be playing Texas Tech or Texas for away games in the state of Texas.

I'm not going to pull out any books, but We must've played RICE in the 70's a lot. Speaking in the vernacular of the day, That is where my Dad taught me what comes out of a Chinaman's arse.

Playing TCU home/home makes more sense than playing in the Houston area. We get alot of exposure in the Houston area but very little in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I would welcome a home and home with TCU to take away some of Oklahoma's and Texas' talent pool.

I personally think that we should play TaM in Houston for the Sabine River Bayou Bowl -- 50% seats LSU - 50%seats TaM

Hell to the Yeah...that would be sweet! But with a few losses in a row to AM, wouldn't that have the opposite effect of the intended purpose?
As we saw in basketball, Houston would have an AM home field no matter what the distribution would be!

We actually used to play Rice ALOT, period. We played Rice every season from 1955 through 1983, inclusive, except for 1960. We've played against Rice in Houston 26 times. That has got to be right up there with any non-SEC school we've ever played.

One strange Neutral site game in 1975, in Shreveport of all places. Was there a hurricane?

We've dominated the series throughout. After the first 6 games, we were 3-2-1 against Rice. They've never approached that kind of parity again. Their best success was during the War, and immediately before and after the Billy Cannon era. Over the last 20 meetings, we are 17-2-1. Their 2 wins were by a total of 12 points.
