I'm pretty sure that if you talk to several former LSU players, you'll probably get several different opinions...You have to take what they say with a grain of salt.

I do think some changes need to be made to ensure we dont slip from being a national power.
we could start by getting a more intelligent and honest fan base. by that measure...you're oh for two. JSTFU.

You dont think ANY changes need to be made?

I was told about the same thing from a player on the team now.Not a starter though.

See this is what I was getting at. You are saying that some ex-player told you that Stud wasn't a very good coach and that he didn't like where the program was headed. Then you admitted that he has only been to 1 game since he left (which would hardly make him an expert on the direction of the program). So obviously it is difficult to deduce much validity from your original post.
Also, there appears to be a problem with the whole timeline. The guy was at LSU for 2 Saban years and even started one year? Yet he was also a starter/contributor for Stud? Stud arrived in 2007. Saban left in 2004. So the guy was a starter on the OL for Saban/Searles as a freshman in 2004? And also a starter on the OL for Miles/Stud in 2007? There doesn't seem to be anyone who fits that criteria. Which makes the post even more questionable. Sounds like you are just trying to stir the pot (which wouldn't make you any different than all the other posters on here who 'talked to' ex or current players).

Will Arnold?
Not possible. Will Arnold wasn't on the team in 2007 (which is when Stud took over the OL).

If this is true, it's pretty consistent with what I've heard from people who talk to former coaches. Past players don't feel like Les is an SEC caliber coach and I've also heard that Bo and Jimbo thought Les is an idiot.
proof? what players? players who played for dinardo would same the same type of shite about saban. Oh and Bo has a head coaching job thanks to lester.

Will redshirted in '03. He was on the team in '07 although he didn't play much. Tried to play some at RG and did get in for a few plays against tOSU.

I heard the same things even this summer from past and players on this years team. This team will have the most attrition they have had in years approaching 10.
Its fine with me, i know college football is a business. i learned that personally the hard way. Coaching is suspect but its not the real problem with LSU football at the moment.

I don't know who this player is, but David LaFluer said he was the best coach he ever played for (Les was TE coach for the Cowboys). I imagine for every one that is negative I can find one that loves him. Whitworth for example.

He's got an apparent track record of struggling to develop talented quarterbacks, his stints at LSU and Oregon are pretty consistent in this respect.
so, your position is but for Crowton's inability to develop QB's, Lee and JJ are all SEC?

It's always the kids who don't play who are disgruntled. We won't have attrition from any players that contribute. And that's fine with me.

FWIW I dont have a problem with Miles, neither did this player. He is a great recruiter, great man, he just needs to surround himself with GREAT coordinators. Id want my son to play for him.

I'll bite. Please enlighten us for what is to blame for our shortcomings.

IMO... anything that involves struggles of a team of LSU's caliber , boils down to coaching. There is no reason a team like Tech, Miss st, and Washington should out gain us in TOP and yards.... regardless of the outcome. Ok.. we have OL and QB struggles? who recruited and developed those players?
