I am normally the first one on the LSU gets no respect from ESPN train. However I recently stepped back and started to examine things a little different. The conclusion that I have come up with is that ESPN is the FOX News of sports. Very bias and proud of it. If you look at all the major sports they cover, they tend to jump on the bandwagon's of the biggest or hottest teams and ride it as far as it goes. Just look at their love of Boston and New York teams. I think it comes off as hate in their tendency not to give anyone else credit.

When I say they are bias from the announcers down to the "Unbiased" analyst. Honestly the only real guys I give credit to for being real are the guys from NFL Live and Jim Rome. Of course this is just my opinion.

Second this. For someone who has been busy lately, can a knowledgeable person elaborate?

Barksdale supposedly twittered that going to lsu was the biggest mistake of his life. He later said someone hacked his account and posted that.

I didnt know that was big enough news for ESPN to cover. And I wouldnt know unless I read it on the rant anyway.

All I watch on espn is the actual sports events. the rest is crap spewed by folks who are more interested in making a buck for the network than integrity, facts, or the people they "report" on. Please dont watch it. its the only way things will ever change.

It's pretty clear that, for whatever reason, ESPN doesn't take LSU seriously as a program. Our loss to Kentucky didn't even make their top 10 upsets of the decade list. Give.me.a.break. I think they'd avoid covering LSU altogether if it was possible.

F em'.

Why would a loss to Kentucky make a Top 10 all-decade upset list?

And shouldn't that be a good thing?

Look at some of the other upsets. No.4 Vols over No.2 Florida. Really? And it just shows that they don't regard us highly enough to include a defeat of the #1 ranked team by a #17 ranked Kentucky significant. I'd have included the #1 ranked Tigers falling to unranked Arkansas, but we'd already shown ourselves vulnerable that year. Maybe the Arky loss was even more significant, givin the fact that it was "fatal" and they were unranked. One of them should have made it over some of the others on that list.

It was the dumbest college coaching blunder this decade, do you expect people to not talk about it?

Think about it for a minute. "Upset" implies that opinion makers have concluded that a team that's worth a damn lost to an inferior opponent. Apparently we didn't qualify. But you're right, maybe I am being picky. My hatred for ESPN's coverage probably has me reaching.

Some of the upsets are based on what happened in previous seasons (UT/Florida) not where the teams were ranked.

Still I would not complain about being on a list of bad things. Not a list I would want my team to be part of.

People will forever remember the Texas clock management more than the LSU clock management. Especially if Texas wins the national championship. Look at the sports nation poll on the espn college football page. Out of 5 choices LSU is 5th at 9%. Texas is 1st at 32%. Fact is the Ole Miss game cost us nothing after we beat Arkansas.

As far ESPN coverage goes, nothing can be worse then their coverage of the Yankees and Red Sox. That shite makes me want to jump off a cliff by May.

So everyone forgets how ESPN jumped on the LSU for the National Championship bandwagon in 2007? They could have sunk us if they wanted, but they really helped us out.

Not everyone. I remember Herbie actually was a big supporter of LSU getting into the BCS Championship.
