They did that one year for a game early in the season. Maybe 2011 or 2012. The student line was all the way up to the roundabout past Journalism. Then they just said frick it and let everyone in 5 minutes before game time.

The people working already do not know how to swipe the student ID, so they will work the metal detectors as you would expect them too.
Dumbest move LSU could make, test it out on Rice in a few weeks if you want a test run.

The metal detector lines are no joke. If you know that they are going to use them on the student gate, get there 30 minutes earlier than you think you need to. We almost missed the parachute team because of them.

Where are you hearing this? They specifically got rid of pat downs and hand metal detectors last year because of the cluster frick it caused. Why are they putting them up for one game?

They have been rotating them to different gates all season. I guess for whatever reason they decided the Bama game is the Student gate's turn. If I read right, all gates will have them next year.
