Yup that’s exactly what I was thinking.

ETA: someone on Reddit literally said you’d die if you had a 90 degree elbow in your pipe

Anyone ever installed a wood stove?

Posted by jlovel7 on 1/16/26 at 8:09 am
Have a half exposed basement and thinking about sticking one down there. Tried looking for a little advice on Reddit and of course half the comments are

“Wood stoves are likely/should be illegal” and stuff like that.

Obviously want to not kill myself but I do tons of major home renovation and follow codes for a living so just looking for some real world experience before I dig in and do more research.

Basement currently has no heat other than a heater on one side that has now been enclosed into a room we built downstairs to be a home theater.

ETA: I 100% do not live anywhere where it is illegal.

This is what I think of constantly.

You know what I’m doing tonight? fricking drywalling and yard work before it’s dark. It’s a simple life. But quite peaceful.
So what was her setup here. Did she camp out in a known hunting location?

Which direction was the handle of the shovel pointing? Was it veering right?
These are secondhand prices right? That’s the market. Regular face value tickets are substantially cheaper. I think my LSU tickets in 2019 were $450

This is exactly how I felt about attending the 2019 Alabama game.

Ah yeah it was very lethal as she turned her wheel away from the officers and he stepped to the side of the car and fired two bullets in to her skull and then called her a fricking bitch.

Not sure why everyone keeps bringing up the wheel orientation. As if that can be discerned and processed in the seconds or less that this all happened in. Had she had the car in park and give herself up none of this happens.

She protested as is her right. However she likely was obstructing officers and there are consequences for that. So be it. She tried to avoid those consequences by driving her car through officers hastily and under duress That’s never ending well 100/100 times.

Agreed. There was contact. That’s not the debate.

Are we really debating at what speed you’re allowed to hit an officer of the law with your car with? The answer is zero.

There’s no way to know you won’t immediately speed up and try and hit more people. You just don’t know.

I don't care how real it looks, the idea that it could be some dude on the other end controlling it is enough for me to not want anything to do with it.

I’m pretty sure that’s already how it works.
Not sure in any world where agents are trying to detain you and you just speed off where that’s ok. This woman made every choice wrong and she paid for it with her life.

Is the officer overzealous, maybe, but it doesn’t take much for a car to go from zero to lethal and this woman attempted to speed off with multiple officers in front of and around the car.

It’s bizarre how many excuses people make for people making horrible choices. I have extreme sympathy for law enforcement given they never know when someone might snap on them like this lady did.
Did something happen today I missed
This is actually another blow to high school recruits. Increases the amount of portal options and further diminishes wanting raw talent out of high school. So more high school kids will go to smaller schools and trickle up.

College football is basically developing ITS OWN minor league system between HS and college.

see no teal in the 90's. Graphic is shite.

Was this real? When we moved into our house there was A BUNCH of teal. It was horrific to cover up

We thought the sellers must have been nut jobs.
Not my house! Every room is a distinct color and theme and bright. I grew up in a house like that. The Richmond style my dad called it. All my relatives had different colored rooms.

We had:

The yellow room
The blue room
The Lincoln room
The Florida room

Among others. Told my wife when we bought our house is first thing we are doing is painting the house. Her sister has the classic modern pale monotone walls and it’s so depressing

I love our house. And a nice red brick on the outside!

This is a confusing post. Is it ok to like neck and hate piped in music?

I mean band music is a huge atmosphere builder for football games. The latest popular music just feels generic.

What happened to the game I love.

Miami does not have a home field advantage. They barely have a "home field"

Florida teams are notoriously fair weather. When Miami was winning the orange bowl was electric.

I’m sure they’ll have plenty of “fans”. Miami is just one of those schools. When they’re good people wanna come out the woodwork to say they’re a Miami fan. I’ll be shocked if there’s not a fair mount of celebrities pulling for Miami at the game.
Tomlin has the highest winning percentage in Steelers history FYI.
