If it were me, I would suspend them indefinitely and potentially reinstate them if they are found not guilty, the charges are dropped, or there is a lesser plea bargain. If they are found guilty of second degree battery, I would definitely kick them off the team.

If Les is consistent, he'll be out.

He booted Kyle Anderson after getting charged for the same thing in 2007.

If JJ redshirts and we have to deal with this shiite about who starts every week again next year, except between him and Mett who is clearly a better passer and who transferred here with the clear belief he would be the guy in 2012, I will off myself.

Les need's to make a statement to his team that this kinda shite ain't gonna fly at LSU. Last thing we need is the same reputation as the 80's Miami team. If he did what they say, no excuse for it. Send him packing like Perillioux..

All the JJ apologists kill me. The guy has a scholarship from LSU. As I see it, he's an employee of LSU.

Would your employer put you on paid leave after committing a felony?

JJ and the others got themselves into this. With grown up decisions, come grown up consequences.

Adios JJ, you did it to yourself...

By the time they enter a plea this season will long be over with.

First they have to be arraigned. They will plea not guilty at that time (they are generally not allowed to plea guilty to anything at that time). Then they need to have pre-trial, motions, status conferences, and plea arrangements (which will include a determination of reasonable restitution if necessary). In the meanwhile the defendants can assert their affirmative defenses (self defense).

Plus where is the serious bodily injury from the kick? Allegedly the marine was not the one with the fractured vertebrae. In the meanwhile, the Marine will be court martialed in a system that moves much quicker and could resolve the situation as well.

In the end he will plea to a misdemeanor (simple battery) at worse, and then he will have to pay a small fine and do some community service and probation.

Way too many conflicting reports to merit kicking any of the players off. But all four should be indefinitely suspended for the reasons chicken said.

"oh but its his senior season oh boo hoo hoo"

Well its Lee's senior season as well. 5th year at that. Lee has endured boo's, scrutiny, fans talking shite, etc. He hasn't been in a bar fight past curfew. He's been behind the scenes.

Why are we so worried about the future of Jefferson and that it'll ruin his career. Let's get behind Lee. Personally before all this happened both were about on the same level for me, but let's move forward. Jefferson made a pretty big mistake - no matter what the motive was or who started it, he was in a position to make that mistake.

If he's allowed back on the team where Lee would be looking over his shoulder again at him, or be worried about driving the team down the field just to get yanked in the redzone it would be ashame.

I'm done with Jefferson. You should be too. Move on.

indefinate suspension for the time being....

here's a scenairo i have in mind based on what's out in the public domain:

if this goes to trial, this will be tried in EBR in front of a minority jury....

bring the Shady's staff in and the videotape of the kid being escorted out...and throwing the first punch

from what i see, it'll be REALLY simple to paint them as a group of racist rednecks...

prove racial slurs were used....ENDEX....

then jefferson and johns can go after them for damages to their careers in civil court!!!!

If LSU wants to avoid being lumped in with the other ThugUs in the country, gotta make a statement with this one. They both need to go.

Suspended indefinitely, with chance for reinstatement. Nothing leads me to believe that Jefferson is a bad kid. One mistake, if he is truly guilty, should not derail his career.

Not to say he's a bad kid and yes, it's one mistake. But it's a felony mistake. He's got to be gone.
