The two JJ's need to be working with their lawyers right now
they have no time for football
suspension gives them that time.
That answer the ? OP?

WOW, you are a complete idiot.

Coach Miles doesn't owe anyone an explanation. These are his players, that he brought here on his team. If he has the want to suspend a player due to certain hapenstances than he can.

Were they suspended for being arrested?
Now let's see....
Ten minutes after the news broke that they were turning themselves in to the BRPD (ARRESTED), Les Miles announced that both players were suspended indefinitely.
Coincidence???????????????????

Why do you carry the "guilty until proven innocent" mentality?
That only carries as far as the court of law.. In real life we make judgement calls.. And you know what..sometimes they are wrong but we must make them..and it's reasonable and responsible to err on the side of the safe call.

To me, you should not be able to deny someone their rights in employment matters.
I will amend my previous statement though to the previous person:
If you gave the teacher a full salary, you could suspend him IMO and be ok. You wouldn't be denying him/her anything.
In the case of JJ, you wouldn't be able to fix his injustice.

Miles didn't have choice but to suspend. He can get it over with and bring them back ASAP
Unless something happens in this case such as a plea to a low level misdemeanor....this will not happen.. They are moving forward without him, as he is not be apart of this team in any meaningful capacity at this point..

Eh, other people handle these details. Miles had to suspend the two players, any reasonable person would agree.
Guilty or innocent, two or three games is enough. Better now than in two months.

So they are found innocent and the DA incompetent and malicious. Is that justice?
And the opposite side is you play them and they are convicted.
Not the type of person LSU wants representing them on the field. It cuts both ways.
JJ put himself in the position by being there.

If he's guilty of what he is accused of, 2-3 games is no where near enough.
And in 2-3 weeks, we will be in the same boat as we are now. Only accusations, no trial, and no facts. Just assumptions.

So you're supporting the "guilty until proven innocent" argument. That's not how it works in America.
You don't say: let's suspend him just in case he did it.

You need to check into the real world.. Employment isn't a right.. Tough calls have to be made and they aren't always right.. Jefferson made a mistake..the severity while not known doesn't preclude the fact that he is ultimately responsible for his actions.. LSU in this case is dutifully looking out for the best interest of both Jefferson and the program.. If they weren't they simply would have given him the boot

I've seen people get fired for simply being arrested.
That's how at-will employment works. Employers know that an arrest, no matter how the matter ends up being disposed of, looks bad for the employee, and can ultimately reflect poorly upon them.
This is basically the same thing. Playing football for LSU is not a right, it's a privilege that can be revoked for any reason Coach Miles sees fit.
