Its very comparable to a QB who gets beat out by a younger guy but still thinks he deserves his spot as #1. Or a qb that goes down with an injury but expects to be the starter when he gets back no matter how well the backup maybe performing

All of this talk about "dickwads who claim a spot" needs to be clarified. Heres the deal, our tailgate puts out tents, not put up because you cant, usually early Thursday. We usually go out Friday and get everything up and organized and show up around 630 on Saturday. If at some point, one of you tool bags decides that you want to tailgate there anytime after my tents are in place, your shite will be moved regardless of what you think.
Now, for some of you making the statements that you only tailgate for 4-5 home games and get mad for people telling you to get out of their spots, I tailgate for EVERY home game, so if you show up 3-4 times a year, yea Im going to tell you to move. Where I tailgate, there have been a group of guys on both sides that have been there for upwards of 8-9 years, so they watch out for our shite and vice versa.
If I show up thursday to lay my stuff out and there is other stuff there, I will put it right next to the stuff there and have a conversation with those people and explain the situation. There is no reason for anyone to be a dick about it, whether you are in someone's spot or took someone's spot.

awesome.
BT, you have assumed quite a bit about everyone else when it comes to tailgating. Actually, I am going to scout out your area and claim it for a game, don't know which one. But I really want to know what kind of person you are at your finest hour.

Heres a hint, get your own spot and dont try to take other peoples.
If its your first time to tailgate in this paticualr place why does it matter if you get somewhere else>??.........espec if you know that someone else always sets up there?
Trust me there are people who are much more anal about this than I am or ever would be.

This could be more interesting than the game.

good post, and thats pretty much how things should and do go with the regulars.
However I should mention that 430 on fri is the earliest you are supposed to set up according to campus rules, so in all actuality if you do it before then dont be a little bitch of your stuff isnt there b/c you broke the rules not me.

Wait, arent you the one who was just criticizing "mature people" in this thread, then you resort to name calling? What the hell??
And yes jackass, see I can do it too, I know what the rules are, BUT the rules do not oppose to one putting out tent frames and chairs that are not PUT UP, simply laid on the ground in an effort to save one's spot. And I will not a "bitch", I will simply move someone else's stuff as mine was already there and not breaking any rules.

calm down pal I was agreeing with you...
and fwiw you are wrong about the setting up...
Ive seen LSU cops making people pick their shite up leave around nicholson b/c they tried to set up before 430.

Which I deduced from your post, and why I was wondering why you resorted to name calling.

Sure about that? Been in my spot for 5+ years now and we always put out tents on Thursday. As I said, they are not erected per say, but they are out there laying down. Never had any problems with the LSU cops trying to put our stuff up.

Like all cop activities I think alot of the times it boils down to how bored are they and what side of campus you are on... I had a friend that tailgated along side nicholseon and he said more than once that the cops were ball breakers about timeline of setting up and once two yrs ago I saw cops doing it with my own eyes.

Just a note here to save some people a hassle.
First game last year I watched LSU takedown most every tent that was set up before noon on friday. If it folded up easy, they just took it down and laid it on the ground. If it did not fold up easy, they mangled it anyway they could to get it to the ground.
Just a warning to those that plan to set up anything before 4:30 Friday

It was like this 2 years ago when they started not letting people park until a certain time. And yes, it usually depends on how bored the cops are. Not to mention, we are usually out there most of the day Friday just hanging out making sure no one messes with our stuff.

Thanks for the heads up, and weve dealt with this in the past, but we were actually told that as long as we dont erect the tent its fine. We just take them out of the bag, and lay them in our spot. Herb Vincent actually emailed one of our guys this.
