Ten feet can make a big difference in number of homeruns. How many of the ones they hit were inside of 4 rows deep? I would say the majority.

I was told it was a texas tradition.

What is wrong with a curtain call after a homer?

Nothing is wrong with a curtain call after a crucial/game-changing homer. A solo shot in the top of the 3rd? Really, Bad Cat?

"Not for a solo HR in the third inning when you have 200 Texas fans in Rosenblatt."
His explanation for the "curtain call" was reasonable. It's apparently something their fans enjoy. Different strokes,.... This "200 Texas fans " is far from accurate.
The idea that the original poster made our fans appear illiterate is nonsense.

Not to defend UT, but it's a tradition to do a curtain call after every homerun hit. I don't like it, but we have our traditions too.

I undertstand that. We should ask for a curtain call after a stolen base.

BUT its still stupid to take a curtain call after every homerun
I dont think so at all. The kids were excited, they dont hit many of them, its the CWS, and you only live once. We wouldnt be bitching if LSU players took curtain calls.

the reason they dont hit hrs at home is the stadium is built so the wind blows in not out
Posted on 6/26/09 at 4:08 pm to Mr. Hangover
Texas fans were claiming he does it because he wants to salute his parents and thank him.. I guess this settles that.. Texas fans are full of shite..

Has a UT fan tell me that their curtain calls after every HR are no different than our 1st and 3rd base coaches "handing off the football" to our kids when they hit a HR. He said both are team traditions.
I happen to think theirs is quite a bit more bush league than ours, but that's just me.

thanks man i didnt think it was that big of a deal... some people are just so damn anal about everything

Obviously i don't think the OP is illiterate. I apologize. I just feel like if you post something representing the LSU fanbase as a whole that you know will be plastered all over the internet by other schools message boards, at least take time to make it sound like you have a education. I may be in the minority here, but IMO it's just fuel for the fire for the "LSU education sucks" argument that's used by so many.
On a positive note I really like your question and his response...good to know.

This "200 Texas fans " is far from accurate.
