I understand the bunt strategy, but IMO when you do that you're taking away a chance for you're hitters to catch fire while at the same time giving a good pitching team another out. I guess for me it has to be an overly obvious bunt situation to call it.

See my thought process is that you take a slumping hitter/team and give them something easy to succeed at.
It’s easy to lay down a bunt and then it’s easy to hit a fly ball or push a ball to the right side of the infield to score a run.
So in that way you jump start their confidence by allowing them to succeed in small ways.
There’s obviously no wrong answer there just a difference in philosophy.
However that being said my philosophy would have hurt us just then.
