re: Texas gears up for beer sales. Should LSU be next?

So you've never been to an NFL venue? I paid $11 in Jerryworld
Another good point. Every time I went to get a beer at Jerry world the line was 20 people deep the whole game with people buying as much as was allowed per trip. Would have liked to see the beer sales number for that game.
That would be hard money to pass up at a hell of a profit margin. Just to hand a guy a bottle out of a ice chest.

You should have just stayed in your seat. The vendors came by my seats every 20-30 min with cold beers.
Eta: but your point is still valid that the price, while ridiculous, didn't stop anyone from buying.

I dont care what it cost as long as I can get it timely, a 10 minute wait is a no go. Vendors in the stadium is a great idea.

we should go for it, I don't know why we are scared of making money.

LSU just doesn't want to be the first school in the SEC to do it

Beer sales would be about the only thing to bulk up basketball game attendance. Outside of actually winning, that is.

yea, beer sales would help basketball attendance the most.

They'll still get it from other sections so you'd have to card VERY hard, which I am A.O.K. with.
It needs to happen. Very trustworthy studies have been done showing its safer, less people get over-served, generates TONS of money, and people stay in the stadium longer.
They'd also quit selling after 3rd quarter or half-time I'm sure.

I don't care how expensive it is, I want beer!
Agree, i'd maybe drink 2 a game and use them as chaser to some booze I sneak in. Just having the option is more important than spending $90 on 10 beers($1 tip each).

You just have to promise you won't proceed to bitch about EVEN LONGER lines at concessions/bathrooms and concourses that take on a new level of crowded.

Please NO!!! Enough drunks without beer sales. I go to watch football not buy beer. Drunks from both teams ruin it for everyone else

Shouldn't be that difficult for LSU. Just implement the same system they do for Bayou Country Superfest.
They get 9 semis loaded with beer for the weekend. They charge $7 for a 16oz can and they sell a ton.
They also have several areas set up to buy a variety of margaritas

This makes perfect sense for LSU to do this. Most sneak it in anyway. I would not serve liquor though, that's asking for trouble. Definitely for Basketball and Baseball if they feel the need for a trial run.

Yes. They do everything else possible to raise money except this. And this would liven up the Death Valley experience that has been lacking in the last few years.

If the Saints fans can handle it , LSU fans can too.

I don't care about the lines because i make a pit stop before heading to my seat

nfl fans are way trashier than college fans.

I guess lines would get longer at restrooms or would they? I know when I have snuck bourbon into the stadium I mix it with coke. I bet most use a mixer so they still would be consuming similar amounts of liquid therefore peeing the same. I'm like the mikelbr earlier. I would probably only drink a couple beers a game.
Added revenue could be funneled into stadium upgrades if it added up enough.
I see no reason basketball shouldn't try it to increase attendance and atmosphere and who doesn't want to sip a cold beer while watching baseball.
