I was at the KY game and the womens game the next night.
Obviously, they allowed fans to come on the court after the men's game. However, they have police lined up preventing it from happening after the women.
Only reason I can figure why, is cause they are women

This is correct. Plus isn’t already banned. It is not a planned event it’s an explosion of crowd enthusiasm at the end of the game. There should be warning though prior about letting the players off the court until all hands are shaken. That would give security time to get the players off the floor.

I've seen the argument that the Duke player initiated contact and pushed the Wake Forest student. What was he supposed to do when you have people running full speed at you full speed. I'm trying to figure out how the students rushing the court, couldn't run around someone that is barely moving if nothing else, to protect themselves.
I've been on the court/field several times over many years and have never run into or had someone run into me
