i bet theres a lot more confidence in this D
which is why they need to be riskier and open up the playbook.
time to take the training wheels off of JJ and see if he's going to succeed or fail.

I think BigEd is right and you're all wrong.
We've improved each game and I think that trend will continue this week.......time will tell.

what you people are blind to is that WE ARE PRACTICING WHAT WE WILL NEED TO WIN..... is it more important to pass a lot, not kill time off the clock, put the D on the field as much as possible so we can have a UNC repeat..... or to practice what is going to be a better solution for us this year, running?
a gunslinging LSU team this year, with our two QB's (obviously this all changes if we have sam bradford here) loses more games than a conservative running team with a nasty D

and once the good defenses stack the box because we have no deep ball threat, we will see what happens.
until then,

there is something we could have done last year that we didnt (and is one of my biggest complaints about the coaching staff) and thats using our speed on the edges against the big stiff D's we face, specifically bama...... end around to RS... OMG ITS A TD TO RR!
lol its got to be in the playbook... these coaches watch the film... if we can see them open from the crowd dont you think they see it on film?
CLM had enou8gh nuts to onside kick many unexpected times in his career.... hopefully they aren't shriveled up now
its GOT TO BE IN THE DAMN PLAYBOOK

In Miles' head, he sees JJ progressing to be a good all-round QB. Under such an assumption, the sandbagging philosophy is a good one and very strategic. We'll see how JJ matures. If JJ can ever run most of the playbook instead of the "Simplified one", then it might just work. If not, we win 9 games an lose to Bama.

wow......omg...........just like fl 08 and as al 09.
is miles pullin' a meyers/saban on us?

Wow...ranking 115th out of 120 teams in passing offense when your job may be on the line for the purpose of sandbagging. Yeah right.

im not talking about his career.
im not talking about 2009
im not talking about 2008
IM talking about this year. we didnt have this D those years. it changes your coaching philosophy when the D is this damn good.

Great Post Big Ed!!! I couldn't agree more! I am getting more and more excited about OUR TIGERS everyday!! Sandbagging is bad in golf, but ole Les might have a trick or two up his sleeve...Glad to see that it looks like a lot more "postive" energy than negative.

for all of you people who are no longer open minded to the possibility that we actually do not have an idiot for a coach....
let me ask you this..... do you think chavis got off his arse and said "hey i'm gonna swap it up from the D i've ALWAYS played and change over to a new hybrid D for this season" without any type of input from the rest of the coaching staff? If the Defense can re-evaluate themselves, why is it so hard to believe the O can not?
You really think chavis is just a hermit with all these mad hatter schemes and he doesnt get input from anyone else on anything? its BS to think the coaches didn't evaluate this team in the fall and say that our D is good enough to win games at first for us, and by the time we play the better teams, some of which arent looking too good these days, we can then suprise them with some plays we haven't run all year in a game? it doesn't mean we don't run them in practice.
and before someone says throwing passes at practice isnt the same as a game pass....... let me remind you..... our defense is probably better than the oppositions D.... week in, week out.
if you can execute vs PP7 ect.... yea, i dont think the other guys are gonna intimidate them

so because our D is better, we are dialing it down on offense.
makes great sense.

Got to love the "Les Miles has a trick or two up his sleeve" posts. A trick or two is not going to be what it takes to beat a team that you coach against year after year. One has to have the ability to out coach his opponent...
Also is JJ going to learn the abilities needed to get the ball down the field that he hasn't been able to learn since he's gotten here in the next few weeks?
I'm a supportive fan, but there is a difference in supporting the team every week and wearing blinders to not see that there are still big problems that need fixing.

they are sandbagging,
it is a conspiracy don't you know.
dropped passes, fumbles, failed runs, conservative play calling, etc, etc...
it is part of the game plan so as to "barely win".
we do not want to alert anyone.

I am a LSU fan that does not live to lick sabans nuts... same principle as a woman... if she don't want me, i don't want her...
I personally think we are gonna give bama more than they can handle this year.... sure they have a power running game... but they aren't the only ones who can stack the box.... and i think we have better cover corners..... hrmmm....
