Average fan is not very knowledgeable.
Hell- I’ll be first to admit that- especially in baseball. I too questioned - why did he pull Hilliard- and I do so from any in depth baseball strategy/knowledge.
So the reasoning behind it is - would have been 3rd time TN lineup had faced him. So I guess, PM is saying - he knew the chances of him getting shelled were high.
We’re they? I have no clue- and that’s where I get even more curious - as to what he sees/knows of the situation and all that- and then pulling him at that point- what kind of domino effect does it have on his bullpen- for rest of game and today’s game. I really just say all that bc I like reading /seeing the folks that do lnow baseball on that level explain it.

I guess Travinski being hurt caused Paul to run a hit and run with a batter in a 1-2 count who had also already struck out three times so far.

You don't really believe a hit and run was called with two strikes do you?

I’m guessing LSU’s Coaches know more than we do.

Even in a three strikeout game, Tre hadn't made a swing at anything that bad or a swing that ugly. Of course it was a hit and run.
Why does Maneiri doing something stupid seem to be a shocked for everyone?

they are held accountable
I to would like to know who holds them accountable. Different sport but has came to light no one held Les accountable. One would think as in the business world anyone making that kind of money should be held accountable when making decisions that hurt the team/organization.

Based on that philosophy, a no-hitter would never be possible. That is idiotic thinking from a very small mind. Would you pull Nolan Ryan because batters had already seen him 3 times? If they didn’t figure him out earlier, why do you assume they will automatically figure him out on the 3rd or 4th go? You ride the hot hand as long as you can.

Pulling Hilliard who had a low pitch count
Low pitch count? Dude was 20 pitches away from 100. And y’all forget about him having to
Sit during the delay. That kills an arm. And he pitched twice in the regional. 5 days later comes out to pitch 76 pitches. This is a kid that has battled arm injuries his entire lsu
Career. Even in the beginning of this year complained about arm soreness. And it was only a mistake bc of Daughty’s error or “misplay”. If Hilliard had been pitching and that error happens then y’all bitch and moan about Paul keeping him in to long. It’s always easier to say someone made a mistake in hindsight and when you don’t know 100% of the details about what could have been going on.

Les was more interested and dreaming of getting to first base with the Coeds, than he was with off tackle plays against Alabama!
