I agree Kappa, calling timeouts shouldnt be part of the "learning curve". I swear if they had a monkey out there calling the plays some of the people on this board would try and defend it.

Miles is fine as head coach. I would probably have a brain fart at the end of the game after watching crowton run the offense. He blew my mind too. We need to fire crowton today and extradite him from the state of louisiana.

You lost me there. Check with Cincinnati and get back to me. Heisman candidate breaks forearm, insert backup, better numbers.
key word is cincinnati. how is oklahoma doing?

its 2 years later & we STILL haven't developed a top-notch QB,
i can agree with that. i wasn't arguing with him about this year. just last years issues.

I'm saying that it just wasn't the Ole Miss game. That's the game that brought it to light for us who hadn't seen it before (blinded by P&G). He's made mistakes for 5 years that coaches shouldn't make. His players have not performed like they should.
This.
I have been blasted the past couple years for questioning Miles. Last weeks blunder was finally an obvious cluster that has made most realize the blunders of the past.

A good OC will fix most of LSU's issues, period.
Even IF this is true (which I doubt), who do you think at this point will be interested in putting his neck on the line for Miles? If you don't think Porter's sinking stock with Memphis isn't partly the result of Saturday, then you're mistaken. I don't think anyone would really want to step into this situation right now.

Sounds like you're the one spewing crap. With the defense we had last year, you think we should have been 11-2 or 10-3? I'd call that crap spewing if I've ever heard it.
We lost to Bama on an ill advised pass plsu they scored on an pick six that should have never been thrown. UGA beat us by two touchdowns. They had two pick sixes. Arkansas was a disaster. Should have never lost that game. Yes, we should have been 10-3 or 11-2. We only played one team more talented than us last year.

However, I think that Coach Miles learned from his mistakes this season and the Ole Miss game.
How do we know if Miles has learned from his mistakes if...LSU...hasn't...even...played...another...game...yet?

I hope you are right, but this shite should never have happened. What did he say last night? We will have a play ready if something like that were to happen again? It is too late for that. But i will be out there with my family on Saturday rooting for our players and coaches.

How do you even BEGIN to justify this after Saturday. Let's look at objective facts:
1. He makes "suggestions" about plays even when he admits later he really thought he should have run the ball.
2. He apparently doesn't realize that just "Verbalizing" the need for a timeout on the sideline isn't sufficient to actually CALL a timeout.
3. He can't tell you who's calling plays on his own sideline.
I'm sorry, but these are all fundamental break=downs in the basic job of coaching. I hope I have some of you folks as a boss!! I'd sure love to get paid $3.7 million freaking dollars to make "suggestions" & "learn from my mistakes."

Yeah, I was pissed off just as much as the next guy on here, wanting Miles and Crowton tarred and feathered. Crowton I think should go. However, I think that Coach Miles learned from his mistakes this season and the Ole Miss game. I hope anyway. Next season will be the deciding factor for sure on how great or bad of a coach Miles is. Coach Miles hit rock bottom on that Ole Miss game. Let us see how high he bounces back next season.
Its opinions like this that make me realize people will never get it. This was not a one time screw up. I have always hoped I was wrong on my opinion of Miles and would eat crow happily if it meant LSU would be successful. But I just dont know if he can keep this program where we all want it to be

The other thing that some people apparently don't get is that his actions Saturday have resulted in a HUGE blackeye for our school, our program & our players. That's what really burns me up.

I think a lot of people don't realize how big our current recruiting class is from out of state. I suspect if we don't shape up we lose 2-4 late in the game if not more. Why would somone want to come from across the country to play for a coach who can't call a timeout?

A total failure to peform his job? Really? Are you sure? Seems to me if he was a COMPLETE FAILURE then we should have never been in the position to win that game against Ole Miss or anyone else for that matter.
With all internet coaches and spoiled fans at LSU, why would anybody want to come to LSU and be the head coach if Miles is fired? The fact is LSU will end up with a middle of the road coach that has a whole new set of issues for everyone to bitch about.

"The want" and "opportunity" is always going to be there.
However, while the losers are whinning about doing their best and the opportunities that eluded them, the winner is enjoying fricking the prom queen.

Objectively, we shouldn't have been in that position at all. As Tim Brando (not exactly an anti-LSU guy) said on his radio show, LSU was out played and out coached the entire game, not just the last minute or so.

shite I'd love to. Hell, any coach worth his weight in salt knows all he has to do is not be a bonehead and let the talent play itself out.

You are right about this being a big black eye for the program, and I'm not happy about it at all. But what burns me up more is that spoiled LSU fans continue to publicly pile on to Miles. This is only making that black eye into a bloody head wound. The media is enjoying the hell out of watching the fans tear Miles apart.
