The fake field goal
Did anybody else know this was going to be a fake? I thought we made it pretty obvious.

Miles calls Jasper over to whisper in his ear, and then Jasper whispers into the ear of the holder.

Yep...was telling my friends to watch for it. It was SO obvious.

Fla's Moss, in 2006 blocked a FG by USC in a 17-16 game, so I'm sure the Gators were gonna sellout hard on a 50+ attempt.

That "Tiger" call, no matter how many times practiced, took divine intervention. As mentioned, the short toss, inadvertent perfect bounce, it's staying parallel, and as Coach Pete Cordelli(on Songy's Show) recently attested to, Josh Jasper's athletic excellence in Memphis as a prep..it also took a very fast and athletic swerve(not the norm for PK nor P) to dive for that FD marker..also the Clement chip and footing slip by Fla defender in slowing his response and angle taken.

Hallelujah..Thank You Lord!

It could have been a bigger play if Clement got the block. but MIles saying that Jasper would have scored if he caught the ball was off.

Clement nips the guy, and the defender has to catch his footing. If he completely whiffs, no way Jasper gets there.

Clement's block was lame, and the toss was bad. Everything had to go our way to get that to work, and in spite of all of the above, it did. It really was a lucky, lucky play and there's no other way to get around it. The subsequent pass plays to TT from JL were not luck, they were skill and were awesome plays. But the one to get us there, was total luck.

That whole fiasco was such a terrible call

So true, and yet with a hair more of a block(don't want to stay on that block too long on road..may be called holding)..by same argument..Jasper takes all the way to the house on a whiff or open lane.

I'm glad it worked; I'm thrilled LSU won. But no one should mistake it for a great call.

True, and yet by same argument, Bobby Bowden if judged for a gambling play(not his whole body of work), is one "dumb f@ck", instead of genius riverboat gambler..If "The Fumbleruski" is pounced upon by a Clemson defender, or tackled soon after picking it up.

The U is not the U if Bowden recruits better Place Kickers.

The Vest's nat title hardware is all YSU, if not for that delayed call.

Mack Brown is still Mr Febuary is not for Carroll not attempting a single run play with 11 pt lead with lil' over four minutes left, and/or a lucky one-second left vs Neb after he and McCoy brainfart.

Etc..

Dumb luck?..probably..but like a Luckeye or Longhorn or..etc..take it and run with it..

Besides, unlike some of the aforementioned scenarios, the Tigers carried the fight all night, and were ahead 10-9, 10-8, 10-8, on the judges cards..and the 10-9 judge is a Gator grad!

I'm beginning to think this is a team of destiny.
