LSU basketball was never great. We had a couple of runs but we will never be known as a basketball school. Meanwhile we have several sports where we have been great and can continue building on them. Football, baseball, WBB, gymnastics, to name a few. Let’s put the money there.

Absofrickinglutely
Basketball uniforms have been terrible for almost 20 years.
Those are exactly what should be worn.

Out of 300+ D1 schools and roughly 80 major conference programs, on 21 have more Final Four appearances than LSU. They are currently 8th among SEC schools in NCAA Tournament appearances...which is somewhat skewed with the recent additions of Texas and OU. There is no reason to believe LSU's number of appearances wouldn't be higher had they not fired Wade considering he made 3 NCAATs in a row (would have been 4 if 2020 was played).
Just because LSU is bad now doesn't mean they have always been bad, nor, with the right HC, can they be good again. Gymnastics and WBB are among the best programs in the nation...and they LOSE money. Putting significantly more money into the sports isn't going to produce greater results (they are already getting great results).
Again, this notion of being "football school" or "basketball school", or "baseball school" is stupid. LSU wasn't a "baseball school" ever...until they were. And if gymnastics or WBB suddenly started losing at a significant rate everyone would lose interest...just like when those programs weren't very good.
LSU, like every other school, is a "whatever is winning" school. People in Indiana suddenly love football. Is that because they collectively decided to just start attending football games? Or is it because they hit on a great coaching hire and started winning?
Basketball simply has a bad HC. That is the SOLE root cause of the problem. But if you fix that by making a good hire it changes everything
