I am as far from a wannbe as you can get. I am sick of these fricking day games cause I AM a die-hard and I respect the traditions of tiger football.

Better start sucking it up,Sparky. Unless we drop out of the SEC and get our own network like Notre Dame,CBS 2:30 home games are something you'll have to deal with.

Not really, no. The SEC is contractually bound and, as a member institution, so is LSU.

As I said, there are all sorts of back-channel, informal negotiations that take place, but ultimately CBS gets to choose the game it wants.

I'm quite certain LSU won't lose any sleep over your donation. There are fans that pay alot more than you and don't mind one bit about day games. Here's a little inside thing that may help you. As long as LSU is winning, there will be day games. You seem to be a diehard fan and I'm sure Southern or Southeastern could use a diehard like yourself and I believe most of their games are at night. You could just give the 3k to their general athletic fund as a tax deductible donation.

I understand you being upset. I agree it sucks to have the games at 2:30 PM. However, you have yet to comment on the error you made in your original post about the AD of LSU being at fault for the afternoon start times. I believe that a comment is in order now that several posters have corrected your mistake.

OK, I am wrong about the AD having any type of negotiating power and I understand that we are at the full mercy of the almighty red hat guy and CBS. That does not change the fact that I am still very frustrated that the upcoming Alabama game will be moved. In my 30 years of LSU games we have rarely done well at home during the day. This year we need all the help that we can get. Keep on flamin', but I wish that our traditions were stronger than the damn CBS contract and that our AD would fight for our ability to play at night if possible.

Hey 24/7. Seems most of these ranters don't
know what a rant is. Fact checking a good rant is just rude. I feel your pain. Night games in Tiger Stadium are what make LSU diffrent. Cannon din't return the punt on Halloween day. But we sold our soul to the SEC and CBS and must dance by there tune. But I agree with your sentiment. I'd better stop before the Stepford fans come for me too.

Night games are better, yes. But just be happy LSU is good enough that the games are importnant enough to put on at 2:30 CBS. Day or night, LSU defense still sucks.

Thanks for the support Rougarou. I really love the Tigers and just went through the roof when they moved another important game.

What kind of 45 year old actually says "on that raggedy arse?" That's something a 15yr old would say. You stay classy Dawg.
