No, this is always the players' fault.

Yes, since the player has a lot to do with how quick the play gets in. .

was it the national championship season that was off or this year with the potential of an 10-2 season?

This...thats the angle i was looking for...

I have to disagree with you ubout Jefferson though, Great kid, lots of talent but I dont think he's the kind of guy that can lead a 2 minute drill with poise...(that is a quarterback) forget stats and all that bullshite (besides his stats are padded because of the # of his short high comp % throws anyway)

10-2 is not good if you only play 2 good teams and look like crap against the crappy ones...

Yes, there's nothing quite like the sweet victory of getting a 1-yard run off in time for a 2nd and 8 play, rather than uselessly burning away yet another timeout.

and please explain to me how

38-3
38-24 (MNC)
41-14
and 40-3

is bad coaching. if anything, how you show up in bowl games shows coaching.

changes and look at us now. and think about the D next year. absolute studs. the offense will be much improved next year with 3 of the 5 olinemen staying, plus a returning QB, a great receiving core, and a lot of depth at RB. i cannot believe that one off year causes this much choas. this stuff happens to every good program. look at USC this year. Look at Oklahoma this year. Look at Ohio State this year. We're not alone. and honestly you can make a strong debate that LSU is the fourth best team in the country. Florida, Texas, Bama then who? Cinci? Boise? TCU? Considering that IMO we should have/could have beaten Bama we have a strong case for being the fourth best team in the nation. and people are still bitching. i dont get it

LSU replaced two O linemen this season and it has not been pretty. People can point to Black having a very erratic season this year but he is still better than those behind him. Hitt is an average SEC lineman, less to replace there. OU's QB has missed how many games? Jefferson has missed one, and the team was pretty much injury free until Bama.

I want LSU to be successful as much as anyone. There are multiple threads on here pointing to the same"challenges" that have been exhibited on the field under the current general which have not been improved upon, yet, and when one has less margin of error due to turnover of offensive players, these things can't be overcome like seasons past and it leads to one believing the coaching and game management needs to improve.

That is not intended to mean fire the coaches, just that they need to pay attention to little things as that is killing the offensive momentum in numerous critical situations as LSU can't physically dominate most SEC teams anymore.

what do you want jefferson to do? the play calling fits our QBs style and im not sure why you complain. Stats dont lie. so yes, please look at stats. if we dont have a QB that can go deep a lot, then we're not going to go deep a lot. that makes perfect sense does it not? and jefferson has never had the opportunity to lead a 2 minutes drive so saying he cannot is pure speculation. with receivers like lafell and tolliver this year i dont see why he couldnt

so, if LM can get the guys prepared and up for a bowl game with basicly one month to prepare, you would think from September to now this team would have had enough time to be prepared for LA tech, Moo State, Vandy, ULL, Tulane.... b/c this still looks like a confused offensive bunch most of the time...

One could point to this and say Miles' first three seasons he benefited from coaching against UF when Urban was implementing his program and transitioning to Tebow and Bama was clueless under Shula. This has changed significantly over the last three years as Meyer and Saban continue to recruit well and their teams play at a high level

this is miles 6th year???

we were down to essentially our fourth string QB last year

MIles has been here five years. He inherited two great quarterbacks that carried the team for the first three years. Three years to find a quarterback and an OC. He must be a terrible evaluater of talent and coaches. For a man who stands on the sidelines and watches assitants coach, he is not earning his four million. If he is hands on, which most KADS deny, its worse.

No doubt Bama is better coached than LSU, but the gumps have benefited immensely the past 2 years from a weaker SEC and not having to play Florida.
I hope all Ranters here remember that when the SEC divided into two divisions, each team had the choice of an annual out of division rival to play each and every year. LSU and Florida chose each other. So it isn't being imposed by the SEC front office that we play Florida; it was an LSU and UF choice that we play.

thats not the point though. Jefferson isnt a junior, reigning heisman trophy winning QB. hes a mediocrely experienced QB who is learning. my point was to look at Oklahoma, when they have to bring in a young inexperienced QB (as we did) losses just happen. its part of the growing process.

and yeah i can agree with this. i wouldnt be opposed to a new OC because it seems that our offensive playcalling is very subpar. we have the talent to be a great offensive team. im not sure who does the playcalling on offensive but i agree it needs to change. bottom line LSU is still a top 10 (easily), and arguably top 5 program in the nation still with these small problems. Recently it seems LSU just expects excellence so when things go bad we get pissed. Understandable but we should look at the big picture. all in all we're in very good shape
