Frankly, where the complete confidence in Lee comes from is unclear to me.

I can't say I have that, but I can say, I have a complete lack of confidence that JJ will get us there, and I have been consistent with that since last season.

It is not just the "One Pass" from Lee , but the total lack of progress from JJ for the past 2 years. He is no better, and quite possibly worse, then when he started as a freshman.

I have been a JJ supporter up to now and still like the guy. He is of good character, has had no offfield issues, and I sincerely hope he gets better and helps our team. But JJ has had his chance, has failed to step up despite being very carefully handled and nurtured by the coaching staff, and has showed he is mediocre at best. I agree that Crowton is part of the problem with our offense but when a QB fails to make the simplest throws to wide open receivers despite very good protection Crowton is not to be blamed for that.

Lee is our only true option at this point and we will not know how he performs unless he is given a chance for meaningful play and given a chance to succeed. What I would like to see is JL named as starter on Monday and given the chance to mentally prepare all week for his role.

Most fans , like myself, do not truly know how JL will perform. However, we do know that we are tired of watching JJ´s continued lack of progression and deer in the headlights look and it is time to try our next option before it is too late.

well stated. Crowton is part of the problem, but he is not the whole problem. JJ has had more than a fair shake and just has not grown. If we had played Moo State on the road instead of Vandy, we may just have lost that game.

I agree with all of this

It's not that lee is good, it's that Jefferson is struggling.

I agree as well (I just don't know why we have to choose 'sides' or join a revolution - it's ridiculous and pathetic fandomness, IMHO) and I'm on board with Lee getting a couple of series against MooU (like 3rd and 4th) then go with whichever one seemed most effective.

If that's JJ fine, but keep working Lee to get him ready when needed.

If it's Lee, go with the hot hand and see what happens.

If he earns the job then he will have an opportunity to be the comeback player of the year and he will be the feel good media story that gets LSU's PR back on track with the National Media.

If they are both stuck on suck then it is time to go all out power I and Wildcat with Shep and Ware taking snaps and distributing the ball to that vast array of playmakers we have.

Option a, the light suddenly coming on for JJ

or

Option b, Lee coming in and finally reaching his potential are our best opportunities to compete this year.

The Wild cat, power I option is a last resort and would probably not get us to the promised-land but it would be fun to watch and by next year could be an unstoppable force.

I'm not sure how a very non- mobile QB will do sitting back in a crumbling pocket with fresh defenders coming fast and hard. Bad decisions get made.

We already know what bad decisions that JJ is currently and consistently making, so I am willing to take the chance that Lee has matured, progressed and will make better decisions.

Bottom line - every fan knows about 2008´s pick sixes with JL and is concerned. But 2 years later, given JJ´s continued struggles, JL deserves a fair chance and we will not know until he is given meaningful playing time.

The pass was indefensable even with a fresh D. It was quick, accurate and in stride with the WR. It was THE best pass thrown by an LSU QB in a VERY long time.

I also thought he did a better job getting from under center to the RB on the handoffs.

Lee deserves a shot, a real shot..like play him all of the 3rd Q since we haven't scored a point in 2 games in the 3rd.

Oko gonna' kick your arse.

frankly, I hope you are right. this team needs a spark and solid qb play and catchable balls for our skill players would be a great start.

It was a one pass revolution because that was the only pass the whole game that looked like an SEC QB threw it.

Join the revolution, people...

Is this some campaign? We don't elect QBs.
It could be possible they throw out half of GC's "mobile" QB attack and go with Lee, but it won't be under pressure from your "revolution".
The coaches evaluate QBs week in week out and the 2 coaches on the hot seat will put the QB in that'll best execute the gameplan and save their asses, no matter how many silly songs and speeches you write.

Honestly I was one of the biggest believers that JJ was our best options to be a really good football team this year. I never said that Lee would only throw pic 6's if he was the starter, but I seriously thought JJ would have improved enough to do the most with our offense. Believing Lee is so improved he is clearly our best option is foolish. But to think we shouldn't get him meaningful snaps in our next game is down right idiocracy. JJ has looked downright awful and we have to see what else we have. Maybe he comes in and is all SEC. Maybe the "pass heard round the world" was simply one good pass that wasn't idicative of his current ability. But with as good as this teams defense is, Miles owes it to them to find who is the best counterpart to their lights out play. I do not mind eating crow on this one if it means LSU is a better team with Lee starting. I just want all options explored rather than banging our heads against the same wall repeatedly with the same results.

This reminds me so much of the Marcus Randall days. Who was he competing with, Jamarcus? Every week it was time for the other guy.

After JJ's performace we have to give Lee some playing time.

With as many starts has JJ has had, theres NO WAY he should play that poorly, esp against Vandy. Its embarassing.

The time on the bench should have been great for Lee. Id look for him to come in for a posession or two in the first half this week.
