Wasn't trying to piss you off.....was just reading some of your comments and trying to figure out why you were disagreeing with the whole SEC regular season title. Was I reading too much into your comments?

I dunno if you were or not, i just don't see the point in getting all riled up about the sec regular season championship, it doesn't really mean shite, and i doubt you could tell me how many times lsu won it in the 90s as prove. I can just see some people flipping out if Bama sweeps and we win 2 out of 3, and I don't get it, its not that important.

Agreed that in the grand scheme it doesn't mean that much, but I do believe that it is a key goal for the team. Now will it hurt us that much if we do not achieve that goal......no. But it would still be nice to win the SEC. That being said, it probably won't mean shite to me if we lose in the supers.

Not true dumbazz. Being dissappointed in losing super regionals and CARING about wining SEC Championships are two different things. If it doesn't mean anything, why do they award trophies, fly banners and give players rings for SEC Championships (I'll go out on a limb and say it probably means a lot to the players and coaches and guess that they care). Why do coaches have incentive clauses for winning conference championships and bowl games if no one cares. Based on your theory if we don't win the BCS Championship every year, why bother to win a bowl game or win the SEC FB championship.

When did I say it didn't matter in football, or basketball?

Which one do you think our fans will care about more assuming we lose in the supers?

Again, this only applies to baseball, where I'm sure you never see LSU with SEC championship banners up

Actually for the longest time we did have SEC chanpionship signs posted in the outfield. The first Intimidator also had SEC championships listed. It was only after they had to revise the Intimidator for like the third time that they only listed the National Championships.

The players, coaches, and the vast majority of the fans care about winning the SEC Championship even if for some reason you don't.

Hopefully Auburn steps it up for the in-state rivalry !

Alabama is a better team than Auburn and has progressed far better over the year. We played a meaningless game earlier in the year which Auburn won, but Alabama is the much better team at this point.

Alabama is playing for an SEC Title, and Auburn's season is over after this series.

It's not looking good for us.

If LSU takes care of business all is well. If Auburn, Arkansas, Kentucky and South Carolina step up then so much the better.

I think quite the opposite is true.

If LSU wins the CWS, the other "lesser" accomplishments will diminish in luster b/C people will remember that we were CWS champions.

If LSU should falter along the way, each intermediate goal becomes more important. It gives you "something to hang your hat on".

We were SEC regular season/tourney champs. Or we won our regional and made it to the CWS, etc. It all provides exposure, bragging rights and can only help in recruiting.

IT MATTERS.

i agree with what you are saying, but I guarantee you the common fan won't take it that way after the season if we fall short of omaha

Maybe not right after, but at some point before next season starts it will be a proud accomplishment to be the defending SEC Champs. And during next season too.

Personally I hope they make it to the Tourney championship as that means I'll get to see them play 3 or 4 times next weekend.

But I’d rather have to book flights into KC so I can drive up to Omaha to watch a few games in the CWS. We’ll find a hotel somewhere. Wife and son already said if they make it this year we are going.

Can you name all our SEC titles in football without looking it up?
