he's shooting 48 % though this year.

he's making them this year. Last year he was horrible as far as shot selection

Mitchell's FG % hovered around 40% throughout his career

DMitch took many open 3's and sunk them. But MT nails almost all of his shots with a defender in his face. I still have to give it DMitch. His handles and overall team leadership made him the focal point of the 05 team. Without DMitch, there was no final four. Voogt or whatever, couldnt carry them. IMO.

You're referring to '06 but your point is well taken. He was a key member of that great team. Two outstanding Tigers in my view. The rest of MT's story should be fun to watch.

DM didn't have to be. Anybody can just jack up shot after shot like MT does (though he's gotten a little better with taking bad shots).

Yet MT's FG% this year is significantly higher than DMitch's his senior season

Without DM, we aren't even there.

DM was an average PG on a really good team. He was streaky when it came to scoring points. There is nothing streaky about Thortons ability to put up points every single game.

umm I love DMitch as much as the next guy..

but watching Thornton play is amazing. DMitch was a good leader for the team. But MT has carried this team on his back at times. His improvement from last year to this year is exceptional. He gets more rebounds, his defense has improved, and his ball handling.

I like DMitch, but MT5 is the man
