KNOWLEDGABLE baseball fans know that losing 6 of 7 is not the end of the world. KNOWLEDGABLE baseball fans know that in a 7-inning double header, anything can happen. KNOWLEDGABLE fans know that April and May determine the ultimate fate of the season. CLASSY fans do not call their own team disgusting and pathetic.

Maybe it's just me but that just seems to indicate more than a bad play.
I completely understand your frustration. And I do not think it's out of line for you (and all LSU fans) to be pissed the hell off about dropping a can of corn. But I don't think it's an indication of serious issues with the team. If your guys really start booting balls and dropping stupid easy flys with regularity, then yeah, it's time to make some noise and ask PM some difficult questions.
And FTR, I cannot stand when people use the "that's baseball" line. It's seriously pisses me off, but unfortunately, it's true sometimes. We had an awful inning of 3 E's to go with bad pitching on Saturday, and that gave away the game.
I don't think it's going to be a standard thing with us, so I easily dismiss it. That doesn't mean I think it's okay, but I'm moving on.
Granted, it's harder for ya'll to move on b/c the level of play has not improved drastically from the UF series. But, I think it will.
Put it this way. I penciled in the LSU series for a definite 1-2 weekend with a 75% chance we get swept about a month ago. I am now thinking 1-2 with a 50% chance we get swept. Not much has changed. LSU is LSU, and everyone in the SEC knows it. It wasn't that long ago that this team reeled of the longest winning streak in college baseball. Baseball is the most flighty, streak dependent, circumstantial, superstitious, lucky, random sport in all of collegiate athletics. The difference between an NC and not making a conference tourney can be as simple as batting a guy 5th instead of 7th, or as large as replacing an entire infield. You just really never know. And it's frustrating to say the least when things go from great to terrible.

You seem to be on the mark today, so tell me this...
Watkins - drops another routine fly ball... isolated to Watkins performance or an indicator of a lack of team focus ? You can add Nola's Es to that equation also.
Thanks for the kind words...most people on here call me bitchy and whiny. Damn good thing I don't give a crap...
I think people look for too many reasons why things go bad...Watkins may have the yips, like when a golfer misses a 2-foot putt, he really thinks hard about the next one. Nola is just being human...humans who try hard and want to do well make mistakes just like the rest of us. Our guys will play better, there is no doubt in my mind. People just need to lay off and quit heaping this "Omaha or bust" mentality on them.

Truth.
And since in college you only get 60 or so games as opposed to 162 in MLB, sometimes the bad spells do NOT have time to even themselves out, and that is what has the natives around here restless.

Does not compute.
I know a few females of the type that you speak...thank God I don't work with them and have to hear it all day.
