Ford needs some meaningful reps so that he will be productive in the bowl game. I think that is Miles' philosophy.

watch him get 4 snaps in the game, and none in the bowl game.

redshirt... POOF

You're missing the point! But then again some people aren't happy unless they're miserable. People need to realize that Les Miles doesn't have to answer to any one of us. (not trying to start an argument with you!)
Les answers to his superiors and that's it. Season tickets will always be in high demand at LSU so save the "people will cancel their season tickets" argument. If SOMEHOW people cancel, if other folks don't scoop them up, corporations will ala tax write off!!

It was in a championship game - SEC championship. Totally different scenario.

Thank you. I posted that once and got about 10 replies.

No one answered about taking Craig Steltz redshirt off in a 43-14 win over Arkansas in 2004,though. Auburn had long secured the SEC West.

What's really sad is I bet he gets no more than 7 carries.

If:

1) The players actually want to win their final 2 games, and

2) Les and staff determine Ford could help them do so, and

3) Ford is cool with it, and

4) Ford's parents are cool with it

Who the frick are any of us to be offended on his behalf?

i'm thinking more like 3-4.

but saban pulled daniels redshirt in 2001 for the SECCG, so it's cool if miles does it for a meaningless game against arkansas.

This.

Plus it couldn't hurt our chances with Lache either.

if we lose without Ford, or win with Ford... i'd rather have Ford in there. personally i don't see a reason to not just use Ridley/Shepard/Holiday, but if he provides a spark and gives hope to the team/fans for next year (because we are losing Scott/Williams/Holiday), then i say do it.

having said that, how many carries is Ford realistically going to receive next year? one would think he would be 4th in the pecking order behind Murphy/Ridley/Shepard... so if the coaches are even talking about this, then it means Ford is at least better than Ridley has shown in practice. yes, games are different, but still. it means Ford has shown flashes of being a difference maker.

Murphy is the no-question lead back for us next year, and it wouldn't hurt to have Ford show the fans and team how he can contribute. the problem is... who will not get the touches next year and have the fans screaming for them?
