Bingo! The rantards calling this a "meaningless game" are the same ones who had a meltdown over the Ole Miss game that in reality was no more meaningful since LSU now measures it's success with SEC Championships, BCS Bowl games and National Championships.

Exactly. But they are too giddy wearing their "I Told You SO" t-shirts and so drunk on self-righteous indignation to realize their own hypocricy. It's quite hilarious. And sad.

how many threads have their been about "what if we lose to arkansas" and miles head to head vs sec coaches including petrino. now all of a sudden winning is less important that who the RB might be in 2012.

i'm just saying... Murphy seems to be in position as the lead back. he has gotten about half the amount of carries that Keiland has got the last 2 years. we all know how Miles is. Murphy will be the guy until further notice. it'd be hard for Seastrunk to come in and start as a freshman anyway (he's not even leaning towards us anyway). next year i look for the breakdown to be something like this, even though Shepard should be our McCluster and get the majority:
Murphy 40%
Shepard 30%
Ridley 15%
15% random (Ford, Jefferson, etc)

eta: this is if Murphy is back from the injury. things are definitely different if he's not in game form before the start of the season

Saban also burned Steltz's red shirt in the 04 Arkansas game.

Everyone needs to calm down. It's Miles' talent. he brings it in. If he has confidence that he will have other strong backs in the next few years, he can do whatever the F he wants. Ya'll act like breaking red shirts is the end of the world. It's not like people won't graduate from high school after Ford signed with us. There will be more studs coming up, stop crying and over reacting.

FWIW, on Sunday I wondered whether Miles would be dumb enough to do this and was criticized by several people who said even Miles isn't this dumb.

you people are unbelievable. you hate anything Miles does, no matter what it is. if we lose to Ark because we cant run youll go insane. if Ford runs for 200 and we win youll go insane. up should be down, right should be left, in should be out.

Seriously. "Miles ate breakfast food for dinner last night! He should be fired!" A lot of coaches have pulled redshirts this late in the season w/ no championships on the line. I'm not saying I agree, but it's not unprecedented.

Ridley has shown more in 4 games than Murphy has his whole career, he'll be the guy.

Nick Saban burned Travis Daniels redshirt on the last game of the seasn. There's lots of other proof but not this.

There's an old saying among college coaches. It goes like this: "Do we play him with a chance to win and keep our jobs, or do we let the next staff play him?"

That said, it would be a disservice to Mr. Ford.

Why would you play him. We don't run the ball enough to need a running back. We need to recruit a 5 star punter with Crowton running the show.
