Do you think light shows happen while the game action is going on? Like...what crowd noise do you anticipate being killed during quarter breaks and pregame?

This is the worst argument ever.
Things grow and evolve - or they die. Are you complaining because they don't wear leather helmets anymore?
And, of course it's not the original...it's actually 100X better, but some of you old fricks are too myopic to see that.
Go have fun and watch some games from to 60s or 70s - whatever you're into...and enjoy the shitty broadcasts.

Get rid of video boards! They're just a distraction for the ADD generation
And night games! God didn't build Tiger Stadium with lights so we don't need such a modern technicality.
And bring back suits and hats for ball games. There's nothing classier than a man in a woolen suit for a day game in August.

It will never be done on time... just like the folks remodeling my house!

I understand but to get people to come to the game and this is an attempt to keep their attention. It should be the product on the field it's 6 to 7 days a year for 3.5 hours. I look forward and plan my fall around this because I love the game and the experience of Tiger stadium and campus on a good SEC weekend. I might be getting old but the fact that fans can't appreciate the 6+ Saturdays each year is not understood to me.

Okay, then you focus on that.
As for the younger folks, or any age people that like to have a little extra to keep them entertained, we'll appreciate some of the other things.
Nobody is saying that if we add light shows then it's okay for the team to suck.

Has anyone thought that the new LED lighting will save money as they last longer and are more efficient (less fixtures with brighter lighting) especially since LSU likes to turn them on during day games.

That’s my point. We are literally ‘the cathedral’ of college football. When we have a good product and something is on the line, the environment is unmatched and unrivaled. We have some who think we need to be like others. IMO, they just don’t know. We’ve learned our lesson over and over again with simple things like piped in music and video shows.
Camp Nou in Barcelona is a wonderful example. No piped in music, no announcers either. Just a distant drum cadence.

Anyone under 30, will never know how great the atmosphere used to be. We now have become entirely dependent on piped in noise, light shows, etc. Prior, we were dependent on ourselves to make that stadium shake. Especially pregame, it basically like going to a concert where you sit back and watch, taking away the electricity of fan engagement.
It’s almost like most of these things happen during all of the tv timeouts. There is too much dead time these days. Also, nothing wrong with some improvements across the board. LSU has no problem asking us to pay more constantly.

Only thing that I didn't or don't like was that DJ. That was too much forced and I don't anyone really liked it. I don't really care for the piped in music but it is fine as long as it doesn't take away from the Golden Band. I have said this before but am I the only one that finds it extremely odd that we have gotten very little information about new scoreboard or no renderings at all. Unless I missed it there was just one that said it would be the same size and similar to the one Auburn has.

Tell me the majority of this board isn’t boomers without telling me. 75 upvotes and 5 downvotes lmao. It’s the 2000s era that made this program what it is today. Sorry bout ya. Those guys and sometimes myself were the rowdy rowdy 92k strong unanimously known as one of toughest places to play ever.

Just wait…by week 2 the light show won’t be enough and the youngins will want a drone show like Texas

Not much changed, just a different angle.

Agree with you sir. I'm a college football purist. But, there are fewer and fewer of us every year. And we need to broaden support otherwise product on the field goes down. So, I leave at halftime and when the light shows go nuts I will try my best to relax and not get pissed off

Light shows are cool.
