The guy we want, I think, is Steve Prohm at Murray State. Lots of Louisiana connections (he actually went down to Hammond and took the best player in the state last year and he's got another Louisiana kid committed for next year) from coaching with Kennedy at Centenary and SLU, and if you watch that team play you'll see a fun brand of basketball with lots of good athletes and great offensive flow.
And he's a young guy who recruits his butt off.
He didn't build that program, but he's recruited pretty much everybody on a Murray State team that's ranked #12.
Won't cost much, will add enthusiasm and excitement and will RECRUIT.

That's why so many coaches are just waiting for a call to come.

I would gladly take Livingston or Prohm. If TJ were smart he'd have hired Livingston a year ago as an assistant.

The point you bring up is ENTHUSIASM. That is what Daddy Dale brought to the program when he began coaching. We dont need a Snake Oil salesman but we do need someone who can bring some sort of enthusiasm back to the Maravich Assembly Center. I remember in Dale's early years when we had Eddie Palubinskis, Glenn Hanson, Wade Evans, Darnell and Collis Templey aka The Hustlers and that is what they did. Didnt win a lot of gaMES but man they were fun to watch. IMO that is the type coach LSU needs in basketball someone who is enthusiastic and will be fun to watch. Dont think any changes are coming though as someone pointed out earlier about the extension for TJ last year and it would apparently cost somewheres in teh 3 million range go buy out. Who knows, might be worth it if you bring in someone exciting with enthusiasm and start filling up the PMAC and putting butts in all the empty seats and selling alot of Concessions.

Bama is second fiddle. We are third. Huge difference. And Bama was a better program than LSU

Nothing against Prohm -- I like him.
However, Zay Jackson was not close to the best player in the state last year.

I'd can go for that. Was the Zay Jackson kid that highly recruited?

I agree. That's just stupidity.

Zay Jackson had offers from ULL, Tulane and South Alabama, along with Murray State.
He's a decent point guard. Good ball handler. Has no outside shot.
