This is the team talking in the outfield after the game, after they started walking back towards the dugout, we started chanting L-S-U and some of the guys picked their heads up. Some of the guys next to us said "Thank you Tyler Hanover" and he looked at us and gave us a little wave. He looked like he appreciated it, but there were tears in his eyes.
That is solid class my friend......I applaud you and your group.

But hearing your fans cheer and high five SB players can exacerbate the agony.
doubtful. it was probably just background noise
the baseball team knows it has a huge supportive fan base
the fans that stayed to do it prob think they are the best fans in the world, and then there are the fans who hate it and think those people are the worst fans in the world
in reality, everyone is an LSU fan and are just showing it in different ways
like I said earlier, I think everyone is making this into a way bigger deal than neccesarry. I have no problem with it, but I def wouldnt have done it because I was too upset after the loss

You are right but the players sure don't......LSU baseball fans usually disappoint me more than football fans....I mean most football fans are expected to be ignorant....but I expect more from baseball fans.
I just can't fathom even though it has been confirmed by photographic evidence that our fans thought it would be a good idea to slap hands with Stony fricking Brook while our players cried and watched......UNBELIEVABLE.

you are making it way more dramatic than it actually is

maybe but possibly not......baseball players are a fragile sort......as I fan I would not have done it and can't fathom how anyone could have thought that it was a good idea with our team sitting in that dugout.
It wasn't quite as bad as booing J. Lee or J. Jefferson in Tiger Stadium but it is in the ballpark.

Total classy move. I know that I, along with all true Tiger fans I know, stayed long after the BCSNCG game was over and celebrated with the Bama players after their victory. Anyone who didn't is not a real fan and is white trash!

No, no. You have it wrong. To be a pawn of proper social conditioning, you only have to act classy after losing in a "classy" sport, like baseball.

Are people really bothered by this? If some fans want to stay and congratulate the other team, then why not? If other fans want to go home, then why not let them go home? You people are acting like someone made you stay and french kiss the SB players after the game.

also, the picture makes it look like it was probably only 400-500 fans max that stayed to do it out of nearly 11,000. its not like the fans were 4-5 rows deep around the whole park...it was a small percentage

I'm not bothered by it because I don't care about LSU baseball but if a football team beat us in Tiger Stadium to keep us out of a bowl game and our fans did this I would be bothered by it. I actually would be really pissed!

I hi-Fived Jankowsji so hard he won't be able to throw for a week. Or make that gay hand sign

Yes a bit......I know they didn't represent the whole of LSU fandom....but at the time they basically did to those LSU players sitting in that dugout.....minus the guy and his crew that were by the dugout cheering the LSU team after the game (or so he said a few pages ago).

Not really "bothered". It won't keep me awake at night. I don't exactly endorse their actions. I'm more intrigued by the fans' behavioral dissonance between football and baseball.
The fans clapping and congratulating the SB players will be the same individuals in the fall who yell obscenities, become violent towards opposing fans, and call for Miles' head after a loss.

As our guys sit in the dugout the super fans are slapping hands with the team that beat us...outfrickingstanding..fricking disgrace
I just saw them show this on SportsCenter and am fricking embarrassed. High fives and laughing with the team that just knocked us out out of the postseason minutes earlier? If this is what it means to be a part of the greatest fans in college baseball, then you can count me out.

It just shows that A LOT of LSU baseball fans are like 99% of the country and they don't really care about college baseball...they just want to go to the games because it is the cool thing to do in BR or they are old fricks with nothing better to do. If they really cared they wouldn't have stayed around supporting the team that knocked them out of the tourney.

I must have been right by the guy earlier. There was a group of fans cheering each player/senior that walked back into the dugout.
There were not very many fans on the "victory lap" really.
like 5 or 6 in the outfield with guys jumping up it seems. At first i thought it was just the outfielders going to talk to the guys that had been ribbing them all weekend, then it turned into what looked like a "thanks for having us" hand slap of sorts.
the part that did suck was when they got around to the home dugout side and cut across back to their side, walking in front of some of the guys.
I know that sucked for our guys, but like the fella said earlier hopefully they see it and say," I want that next year"

To all of you that have a problem with what the fans did, take a quarter and buy some fricking class.
