I think it is fairly easy to see what I'm asking.
You're asking would fans be upset if the coach with the highest winning percentage ever just decided to leave, right?
Explain how this isn't a dumb thread again...

Yes I would be upset. Not only is Miles the most entertaining and unique HC in the country, but in my opinion he is the BEST HC in the country. Considering all the different hats that a CFB HC must wear in today's game, Miles is the best overall HC in the country.

right. oh it's all been peaches and cream here at LSU. He hasn't been on the hotseat all season and seasons before it. There hasn't been people yelling for him to be fired, booing in the stands, derision in the national media, and universal discontent all season.
it's just been all gravy and mashed potatoes. A veritable hippie kumbaya lovefest.

So do I, it was the Archer, Hallman, Dinardo years. Miles' worst season is equalt to or better than their best. That's why I don't think we should be so eager to "sell high"

Name one coach who would come who has a better 6 year record then Miles. Now tell us what coach would have more wins then Miles over a 6 year span. CLM has the record so it better be someone good!

I'm gonna go with no on that.
Les got 10 wins at least this year, anyone not upset would be retarded. I just don't see the point of this.
Is the grass he ate green? That's about as relevant as this thread.

so then yes, you would be upset. thank you for your honest answer.

but would anyone else be not that upset if Les Miles was able to parlay this season into another job with the NFL/UM?

Since you started this thread, can you answer your own question?
It seems from the thread that you would not be at all upset?
If so, why?

Getting a new coach doesn't guarantee success. It doesn't guarantee anything but uncertainty. The LSU fanbase as a whole has never grasped this concept and I think never will.
It's because you are dealing on here with a lot of college kids that honestly think they know it all but have very little clue in actuality. The guys that have been around and understand this realize we have the winningest coach in lsu history, and we aren't some "chosen" university to where the wins will just keep coming no matter what. These young kids came up with lsu winning and they don't understand that it won't always be like this, there will be peaks and valleys. What we have going right now, between the quality of the program, lack of scandals, recruiting classes, wins, is second to no other coach that lsu has ever had. It's ashame that everyone is not smart enough to realize this.

JESUS TAPDANCING CHRIST. You guys need to learn how to read.
The question is based on Les Miles hypothetically choosing to leave LSU.
If faced with that reality, how upset you would be?

I would be grateful for the time we had together, excited about all we had accomplished, but at the same time excited about the future.
Like breaking up with a gf who you loved but knew you couldn't marry longterm.

if LSU was 8-3 right now, you would not be feeling this way. you wouldn't be saying this.
i think LSU fans are more obsessed with the here and now, and lack any sort of perspective.

I would be upset. I can't believe some of you want to get rid of the 3rd Winningest Coach in LSU football history behind Charles McClendon and Bernie Moore; a coach who averages over 10 wins per year and who will finish, at worst, with a 10-3 record this year. There is something inherently wrong with that scenario.
Of course, if he left, I wouldn't blame him. And if he did leave, I don't see anyone better out there that LSU would realistically have a chance to get.
Be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it.

Nah, I remember the past quite well.
If our hypothetical replacement averages 10 wins a a season, it'll be a wash.

I'd love for Les to be a Tiger for a long time, but if he feels he MUST leave, more power to him.
