Saturday night after the game my husband and I were standing outside of gates 8 & 9 waiting on
friends. I noticed 6 or 8 trash cans just outside
of the gates. We could here the students
coming down the ramp inside the stadium and coming out of the two gates we were standing at. They were pushing over every garbage can full of garbage that they came to.

and to the people arguing that we should fix this by handing out MIPs left and right, you are dumb.
I'm not one of the people who made this agrument, but I'm pretty sure that you meant to say "misguided" instead of "dumb."

because the drinking age most likely when you were at LSU was 18.
You are correct about this at least for me.
quote:
so dont tell me you dont understand kids 18-20 drinking.
What I don't understand is how anyone can go to college without drinking. Baffles me to think that anyone would try to make it through without a little refreshment aide.
quote:
and there are plenty of non fraternity related people some even, over that "magical mature" age of thirty that trash their tailgates.
Doesn't make it okay no matter who is doing it.

and to wrap it up, go check out the parade grounds at 12 sunday its spotless again
I hope this is because the pledges went out there and cleaned it up.

quit your nagging, and go back to your job instead of complaining here on TD
Now you are being misguided. When you say "nagging," I suppose that you misunderstood the purpose of the "rant." Also, I was under the impression that this site was not limited to student input only. If I'm wrong, you can correct me. If alumns are invited to share here, then I think my two degrees from LSU and years of donating to the undergraduate and law schools entitles me to "rant" if I want.

What a bunch of a-holes!! I guess it's ok, since the prisoners will be there after the game to clean it up...so why not trash the place!

i mean no offense to anyone by the nagging comment wrlakers i was just ranting myself, because some of the "misguided" people really had me riled up.
just to make that clear
and i am one who respects the traditions of LSU and those who have come here before me, not just current students

Are you a fraternity member?
If so, why not step up and challenge your fellow brothers to set an example for the sloppy 30+ crowd near by?
And yes, I'm dead serious.

this does look bad but the facility services didn't put out the trash cans that they usually do. also they get inmates to come and pick up the next morning anyways.
Posted on 9/27/10 at 3:53 pm to LeopoldButters
The lack of trash cans is NO excuse. Bring good quality large trash bags, hang on a pole or whatever and use them. Where in decent society is it acceptableto throw trash on the ground! Would someone do this in a park? or a Community center? Have some fu#k*#g pride for the campus, state and community! Not enough trash cans, my arse!

+1000
The campus has twice as many visitors during a game as it has every day. No doubt the sheer influx of additional people causes more trash than normal. It does not, however, grant an open license to all students or over-thirty-somethings or anyone to act like frickin' pigs.
It doesn't matter that prisoners are coming by to clean up in the a.m. You need to act like a human being regardless.

i'm not reading 13pp of posts, but from what i've seen over the last 10 years, if i were the AD i would first ban all generators from campus and see if that doesn't ramp things down a bit.
it is ridiculous to see the trash on campus on game days--no excuses

Wow, what a jackass. sure let's just let the inmates pick it all up because we don't have enough self respect or respect for the university, city, or state to throw our trash in a garbage bag or can.
AND FOR THOSE SAYING THERE WEREN'T ANY TRASH CANS THIS GAME. YOU ARE FULL OF shite AND frickING LAZY. WE TAILGATE ON HIGHLAND IN FRONT OF THE LAW BUILDING AND THE GUYS IN THE TRUCKS CAME THROUGH WITH TRASHCANS TWICE THAT MORNING. WALK OVER THERE AND GET ONE YOU frickING LAZY TRAILER TRASH!!!!
how did this get anchored. admins frat? or TD sponsored by frat?
Fine. don't pass out MIP's but grab everyone of those fricking fratstars caught trashing the campus and force them to come pick garbage up at 7AM Sunday Morning.
A little responsibility will teach them to clean up their mess.

I dont see how generators have anything to do with pieces of shite not picking up after themselves...How hard is to to through a piece of trash away
Its pretty simple...Just pick up after yourself

OK - well, these MIPs should be written. Start at the Parade Ground and at the Bike Path on Nicholson.
While at a tailgate, the officer should ask for the organizers to show them their trash bags.
Afterall, a "trash plan" is required on coastal/offshore fishing boats, why not at a tailgate?

Amen, and AMEN! Preach, preach on, bruthuh! I believe that this is actually a good idea. Short of assigning designated tailgating areas for everyone so that compliance can be easily monitored, this seems to sound quite plausible. Random (and highly visible) checks rather than checking everyone every weekend would provide incentive to be serious about cleaning up one's area.

First of all, if you think it is just the frats leaving this stuff behind, you are f'ing stupid! Second, to the moron that said, "what is the problem-it is all gone now" you are just as stupid.
A sad commentary on our people when we think it is okay to trash our own house and somebody else will pick up after us. Start ticketing!

i talked to the men putting out the cans in the AM. They put out 14 trailers with 240 cans per. doesn't seem like a lot for over 100K tailgaters.
Posted on 9/27/10 at 6:50 pm to chackbay
I still think it is pathetic many of you are bitching about there not being enough trash cans. AGAIN, bring your own fricking cans and haul away your own fricking trash after the tailgate. It is not LSU's responsibility to clean up after you lazy assholes.
If you are going to bitch about LSU giving your free trash cans and hauling your shite away from you at no cost, you are just pathetic.
And for those complaining because I think MIPs would help this, it IS part of the problem. These little shits can't hold their liquor, behave like bafoons, throw shite everywhere, are belligerent and disrespectful.
I am completely for fully enforcing the law. If you are not 21 or older, you shouldn't be drinking. PERIOD!

MIPs are a joke in BR they are the biggest money making scam the city probally came up with other than towing the shite out of cars...It was probally frat boys more worried about tying thier ties properly than throwing away thier trash damn Frat boys
