We will need to go out and get some big time recruits...another couple guys like Shaq, Baby Davis or Chris Jackson. I'd say its about a 30% chance. Since Florida's dominace the SEC seem to be taking a backseat to the Big East, ACC, Pac 10 Big 12, and the Big 10. The SEC's success as a whole is important. We have to show these recruits that they can come to the SEC and play big time basketball. Kentucky is the only SEC team that has a constant flow talent coming in.
Love the PMAC but its aging... a new facility would help attract recruits. Auburn just built a new shack. They have the right idea and they will probably steal a couple of Bama's recruits.
We need to get into Texas, Florida, Alabama and Georgia and really recruit. We cant just rely on local talent like football.

It could happen, but only if the right investments are made.

its possible, since just two great players would be enough,
although you could have two great players and not get out of the 2nd round, because all but a few of the teams in the 2nd round can beat anyone if their best players have a great game.

Auburn just built a new shack, that was smaller than their old one, so recruits wouldn't notice as many empty seats

True..
I know we as fans tend to get caught up in the here and now...what just happened is reality.
We have just played 3 poor games. But I thought the Houston game was very impressive and IMHO Houston is better than either Central Michigan or McNeese (not Coastal though) and we beat them handily.
We must consider that there is room for players to improve individually and for inexperienced teams to learn to play together better the longer they play together.
I don't think it had to be this bad now to build for the long term as Trent is doing, but with the freshmen we have now that will be 4-year program players and the highly touted national post recruit coming in next year I see this thing trending upward and yes I see a FF in the next 5-10 years.
