I have always wondered why LSU reports actual attendance instead of paid. Of the top of my head they are the only school in the country to do so ...
Another worthy tradition.
Paid attendance is reported to the NCAA for record keeping. However, LSU announces the actual attendance because it wants the opponents to know exactly how many fans are there to see LSU whoop their arse.

The Wave has had over 3,000 people in the park.

I'm not sure what your point is. Are you saying that the fact that every single seat was sold but only half show up (which is not at all the norm nor is it accurate for most games, maybe so when Smoke Laval was here in the latter years) - that shows pathetic fan support? You do realize that if somebody spends money at all on a set of seats, then those fans are supporting LSU whether or not they want to show up or not.
I think Tulane fans criticizing LSU fans on fan support is about like a bum criticizing the home owner whose home he's sleeping in front of because the grass isn't cut.
Shall we discuss Tulane football attendance? Yeah, I didn't think you wanted to.
My point is, that LSU lists "paid" attendance as well as actual attendance. I remember some weekend series back in the early 00s, I think one against Houston, where the Advocate even commented on the games being "sold out" but there being 3,000 people at the game.
I'm not trying to rip LSU's attendance for baseball, it's great, but one thing you can't rip Tulane for is baseball attendance. Basketball and football, knock yourself out.

You must have missed the Ole Miss and Rice series. There were definitely over 3,000 people on the Friday and Saturday games of those series. Maybe on Sunday's of the series they didnt but thats still 4 games right there.

FW, you may want to correct this post. This is not correct.

No way for any game ...
Again, I am going to stop fighting about Tulanes attendance because it is damn strong.. But to say that Tulane avg 3,000 in the park is not true at all ...

I did. LSU acutally has in the past (not sure if they still do) listed both paid and actual. It would look something like this
Attendance: 7,500 (4,827)

No, not really. I'm sure some of the local kids want to beat LSU more than they want to beat Nicholls or ULM, but there are LSU players who want to beat Tulane more than they want to beat Centenary or Southern, but, again, this isn't 1995, and while I'll admit before Tulane became a national program, beating LSU could make a season for Tulane, this is not the case, and has not been the case for 15 years.

Now, back to the game, who is LSU starting?

I know they don't average 3,000, but they will get atleast 3,000 for the big games.
