quote:
The outcome of games isn’t based on ERA it’s based on runs. Floyd didn’t throw 9 innings, was never going to throw 9 innings and didn’t give up 10 runs. Those are the facts, his era projected over innings he didn’t throw means nothing.
Dude, just give it up. We know he was never going to go 9 innings. So in order for his 4.2 innings to be considered a good outing, he needed to not give up a run per inning. If he had come out after the first, he would have given up 7.6 less runs than they average. But is 2 runs in one inning a good performance? No. This is called extrapolating. He didn't keep LSU in the game. The bullpen did. If he had stayed in, he would very likely have just continued to give up runs. But he didn't stay in, because he wasn't good enough and got pulled.
How much more do I need to explain to you?

You don’t need to explain anything, you’re arguing fairy dust vs fact.

“What are you talking about? LSU scored almost as many runs as Dollander gives up on average. They did fine.”
Lmao trying to mock me with the logic you’re the one actually using. You can’t make this shite up.

You’ve been there for six years, over 35,000 posts, and don’t know how to use the quote function?

“….Throws to first base worse than Thompson.”

Madking What are you on right now? I’d love some. Can you seriously not understand pitching 9 innings and giving up 5 is better than pitching 5 innings and giving up 5? It’s all about how many runs you give up per inning. If Tennessee averages 9 runs that means they average 5 runs in 5 innings, which would make his performance below the average against Tennessee. His ERA for the game was almost 10, Vietmeier’s was 0. Make more sense?

Getting much better...little more command of that change and if he can get on top of that curve ball more..make it sharper.. he's gonna be LEGIT.

Even Floyd's misses last night were close. I didn't think he was a good match-up for Tennessee and wanted us to use Hasty. But Floyd and Viet did very well. I know if my aunt had balls but If we had Berry and Doughty or if that Cranford hit falls we may have won this game.
