Scouts will watch enough film to see our d line was terribly coached last year, which will help his cause.

I agree, I like the way Kiper broke it down on ESPN.com, basically said that his abilities will fit perfect in the 3-4 system and that has coaches high on him. Moreover, glad to hear that Tyson is getting some NFL love

did you say the same thing about marcus spears?
For you to compare Tyson Jackson to Marcus Spears is just laughable. Their similarities begin and end with a common position. Marcus Spears epitomized effort, heart, and productivity while he was here. Tyson Jackson dogged it for two straight years. He coasted into his projected draft position through his physical talents and a completely unfulfilled potential.

I hope he goes #1. I hope all tigers go #1. Why cant you just be happy for the man, he was a TIGER.

This thread is full of dickbags! Tyson Jackson does have the means to be a starter and contribute on just about any NFL team with some time. TJ has 1st of all NEVER played bad. He has had some great games and average game. I have never seen a game, where I said to myself, "look at that frikkin' TJ... he got beat again & again!"

why?
in 2006 jackson was pretty much better than spears ever was, and he played as much coverage in 2007 as spears in spears' entire career at LSU

heart and effort? is that why he got fat while at LSU?

tyson jackson had, literally, no coaching his last 2 years and we played a scheme that didn't attack

fast edie, you really need to take that LSU favorite team thing off of your name. Are you serious? This is a guy that busted his butt for us for four years, so he didn't have a good year last year, name me one person on the defensive side that really stood out to you as having a really good year? Our defense was down last year, anyone that has eyes could see that. It was a really poor coached defense that played some really good teams and other teams that were looking for payback for the year before that. But to actually dog a former tiger is just ridiculous. I wish jackson nothing but the best, i am thankful for his contribution while at LSU and for whatever he did to help us win the national championship in 2007. Oh and get a life

You must be a big fan of statlines, huh? There is A LOT more to being a good D lineman than getting numbers. Tyson was a monster at disrupting running lanes. The past two years teams pretty much totally avoided running to our left TO AVOID TYSON.
Not to mention the fact that he is held more than any other DL I've ever seen and that includes Spears. The guy was pretty much unblockable in 2006, and teams realized that so his jersey has been pretty much ripped off every game since. That contributed to the two infamous personal fouls against Bama and Kentucky in 07.
To say Tyson dogged it last year is just pure ignorance. The guy would have been a top 10-20 pick had he left after 07, but he passed up that money because he wanted to come back and play in Tiger Stadium and represent LSU for another year because he loves the team, the state, and the fans so much.
The coaching on our defense last year makes it virtually impossible to evaluate any one player because the overall scheme was so flawed.
Tyson is worthy of the same praise that Spears, Lavalais, Williams, Dorsey and all of our other great LSU DL and I have no doubt that the example he set the past 3 years are going to pay off this season and beyond with young players like Rahim, Pep, Corley, Aghayere, and Clement.
Oh yeah, and he is pretty much the ideal 3-4 lineman in the NFL for those of you who don't understand the difference between college and the NFL.

tyson has been in coverage the last 2 years, not dogging it

Spears has not been very productive for Dallas. Showed some glimpses this year but overall pretty much a bust. I would say Spears > Jackson while at LSU.

Tyson Jackson a Top 10 pick? Ahahaha, he'll be lucky to get drafted in the 2nd round. That piece of shite hasn't done squat this year. He was supposed to be the leader of the d-line yet they couldn't pressure jack.

STFU you ignorant troll.
And your homework assignment is to read Voodoo's post 100 times while standing on your head.

Man, we have some of the dumbest fans! These guys bust their asses for us to enjoy supporting a great program and support one of the two or three positive things about this state and you have idiots who post ignorant stuff like this. I will take the analysis of people who do this evaluation and analysis for a living than someone who probably never laced them up. If he is a bust, so what. He helped LSU win a BCS Championship, stayed out of trouble, and represented the university well. Good luck Tyson and thank you for your effort in the purple and gold!
