I'd put down a good chunk of money on ULL if they played Nicholls. The Cajuns are playing much better and are adding pieces that weren't available earlier this season. I wouldn't feel comfortable pegging the state's 2nd best team in mid-December, but I am confident in saying LSU has the best team in the state.

Tortious:

How many times have you seen LSU play this season? You are off your rocker if you think Nicholls is close to being on the same level as LSU.

On the other hand, it's been over 20 years since LSU has lost to an in-state school in the PMAC.

stromile, im not saying LSU and Nicholls are on the same level, just saying it's possible Nicholls can give them a game.

Yeah, I was there, and I'm pretty sure LSU lost by 5-6 points? Also, LSU was a different team struggling to find its identity without Tasmin, and not to mention a different coaching staff. Hell, you know things are bad when Terry Martin is cracking the starting lineup.

ULL is a different team now than what they were then....kinda like how Florida's football team was a different animal after the Ole Miss game this year.

When February rolls around, let's compare the two teams. LSU beats down Nicholls tonight, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if ULL gives LSU a better challenge.

those better be some damn good pieces to make up a 30 point deficit.

I agree it's still early in the season and we'll see later. Nicholls does have an outstanding freshman guard though who will only get better.

UL was missing three starters, their sixth man, and the two UNLV transfers for the Utah Valley State game. That is six players, one more than the amount that plays at one time in basketball. Plus, you have to remember mid major schools like UL cannot recruit the depth of a school like LSU. If a mid major is missing six of their top eight players they are in trouble.

By the way, LSU should still win the game, just saying UL is probably ALOT better than Nicholls at this point.
