It's going to be Clancy according to 247 people. Just be patient.

What is this "patience" you talk about? People here would rather melt and shite all over the program based off of bogus rumors and confirmation bias. This is LSU.

Again, how do you know it's not stoops? Literally everyone is reporting stoops will have an interview. But you are saying no?

Just think that once this DC stuff is over we get to do this all over again about where 18 year olds will play their college ball at.

I'm sure hopeful. I think if it's Stoops we're in for an interesting offseason.

Come on B, even the ones who can't stand Miles know how important this DC hire is.

That's why people are so impatient. They don't want to see LSU get the wrong guy and have an even worse outing next year, with all the talent we have on both sides of the ball.

That's all the guy was trying to say. It's seriously important to get this hire right.

shite, according to the stoops thread, a guy is saying it was reported on the news tonight that stoops was offered and has now accepted.

And I talked to a close friend of Frank Wilson today and Wilson stated "LSU has not offered the D.C. job to anyone"

So Wilson stated to a friend who stated to you that at that time, the DC position had not been offered. It's fairly safe to say that earlier today, that is correct. My rock solid sources say the same. May still be the same, but neither of us have any idea.

Channel 6 news in Shreveport said Miles met with Stoops tonight and is expected to be offered the job. Some on here saying meeting is tomorrow. So did the meeting already happen or not?

Probably just parroting the same damn OK news story. Gotta love hard hitting journalism.

Hey if Stoops can help get consistent talent from Texas we could benefit tremdously. Maybe Stoops can flip Mack. Who knows but I promise you Stoops is a big time recruiter in the South more than Chavis ever was here.

Stoops does have Texas ties...maybe they're hoping to solidify that area w/ someone like him?

Oklahoma has ties to Texas. Stoops uses those connections, just like the other coaches at Oklahoma. Hell, the best recruiter on that staff is the DL coach, not Stoops. His recruiting prowess is being exaggerated.

No. Stoops is past his time. LSU needs NEW coaching blood. Why in the frick can we never get an innovative on the rise coach? Why does it always have to be a used old rag with no new tricks? Like frick Les. The world does evolve believe it or not. I will be pissed if Stoops.

Except LSU is not DEPENDENT on those connections. We lose just as many in-state guys as we do Texas guys. We need the in-staters. The fact that we lack OL depth and Cam Rob and Jerry Tillery walked out of Louisiana without a fight is troubling. frick Texas if its at the expense of Louisiana. I've never heard of this Mike Stoops recruiting prowess anyways. Never until now. OU has been very MEH in Texas. They havent stolen all that much top talent considering the program they are.

I wonder the same thing. There will be great coaches in the next decade. It would be kind of neat if they were jump-started here.

The new trends in O's really stress DC's locked into conventional schemes - even the coaches in Tuscaloosa.

This all better be just a favor to get stoops some recognition. If not then Miles fully deserves losing his job after the decline of our defense

Me too. I will pretty much be done with Miles if we hire Stoops. Get Pendergast and Ed O. If Haley still decides to stay, move him to LB coach and get rid of Ensminger (maybe an executive position) and/or Peveto.

Dude, this hire will determine if Miles' arse is fired in the next two years.
